FS1 Sets Broadcast Team for Coverage of UFC 203: Miocic Vs Overeem Heavyweight Title Fight FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: John Stouffer Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 [email protected] FS1 SETS BROADCAST TEAM FOR COVERAGE OF UFC 203: MIOCIC VS. OVEREEM HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Cormier and Former Welterweight Contender Hardy Serve as Analysts LOS ANGELES – UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (15-2) defends his belt for the first time at home in Cleveland on Saturday, Sept. 10 against No. 3-ranked contender Alistair Overeem (41-14, 1NC) at UFC 203: MIOCIC VS. OVEREEM. To cover the highly anticipated card headlined by the heavyweight title fight, FOX Sports announces that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (@DC_MMA) and former welterweight contender Dan Hardy (@DanHardyMMA) work as studio desk analysts for FS1 alongside host Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant). Megan Olivi (@MeganOlivi) serves as reporter, interviewing fighters backstage. “Stipe is very well rounded, has big power and can wrestle you,” says Cormier. “Miocic needs to get close to be effective. He’s got to do that behind the jab and he’s got to make Overeem uncomfortable. But if Stipe rushes in to get a takedown, Overeem has a very good guillotine choke. He’s a K-1 Grand Prix Champion. He’s not a normal striker in a mixed martial arts fight. He’s adjusted his game in terms of movement, but he doesn’t have the best head movement. We saw Bigfoot Silva put him out with a punch. Miocic should be able to as well.” Watch Cormier’s break down here. Saturday’s coverage features the FS1 UFC 203 PREFIGHT SHOW (7:00 PM ET) on FS1, leading into the FS1 UFC 203 PRELIMS (8:00 PM ET). The two-hour show showcases four exciting bouts, including No. 10-ranked Jessica Eye (11-5, 1NC) facing No. 11 Bethe Correia (9- 2) in a key bantamweight matchup. Brad Tavares (13-4) and Caio Magalhaes (9-2) square off at middleweight, while lightweights Nik Lentz (28-7-2, 1NC) and late replacement Michael McBride (8-1) battle. No. 5-ranked Ian McCall (13-5-1) fights No. 14 Ray Borg (9-2) in a flyweight bout to open the PRELIMS. Joe Rogan (@JoeRogan) and Mike Goldberg (@MFG16) call the fights on FS1 live from Cleveland, while Victor Davila (@mastervic10), Mario Delgado (@mariodelgadorzm) and Erik Perez (@Goyito_Perez) make the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes. The UFC 203 POSTFIGHT SHOW immediately follows the main event with Bryant, Cormier, Hardy and Olivi interviewing winners and providing analysis of the action. The UFC 203 WEIGH-IN SHOW airs live on FS1 Friday, Sept. 9 (6:00 PM ET) with host Bryant, Cormier and Hardy providing insights about the fighters as they tip the scales. UFC® CAPS OFF EPIC YEAR WITH A LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE BOUT AS RAFAEL DOS ANJOS COLLIDES WITH DONALD ‘COWBOY’ CERRONE Las Vegas – It’ll be lights out in the Sunshine State when UFC® returns to Amway Center with a lightweight title bout as newly crowned champion Rafael Dos Anjos looks to defend his title for the first time when he meets No. 2 contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in a highly-anticipated rematch on Saturday, Dec. 19. In the co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos clashes with former STRIKEFORCE® champion Alistair Overeem in a bout that could have major title implications in the wide open division. UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DOS ANJOS vs. COWBOY 2 will be the second consecutive championship bout to air nationally on FOX and eighth overall. After putting on one of the best performances of his career against Anthony Pettis at UFC 185, Dos Anjos (24-7, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) captured the 155-pound title, becoming the first Brazilian to hold the UFC lightweight championship. In addition to his impressive wins over former champion Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz, Dos Anjos also handed Cerrone his last loss back in 2013. The Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt will put his title on the line when he and his former foe meet again. Since dropping a decision loss to the champion, Cowboy (28-6, 1NC, fighting out of Albuquerque, N.M.) went on to dismantle the lightweight division by picking off top contenders in one of the most talent-rich divisions in the sport.

  • Undefeated Olympians Collide As Champion Ronda Rousey Meets Sara Mcmann at Ufc® 170 Saturday, February 22
UNDEFEATED OLYMPIANS COLLIDE AS CHAMPION RONDA ROUSEY MEETS SARA MCMANN AT UFC® 170 SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22 Las Vegas, Nevada – In what could prove to be her toughest challenge yet, UFC® women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (8-0, fighting out of Venice, Calif.) squares off against undefeated wrestling sensation Sara McMann (7-0, fighting out of Gaffney, SC) in a battle of Olympic medalists at UFC® 170 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday, Feb. 22. A bronze medal winner in Judo at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Rousey recently defeated her bitter rival Miesha Tate at UFC 168 to retain the women’s bantamweight belt and remain the divison’s only champion. Now she takes on McMann, who comes in as the most decorated wrestler in the weight class, having also earned Olympic silver at the 2004 games in Athens in free- style wrestling. In addition to the Rousey-McMann tilt, (No. 3) Rashad Evans (19-3, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.), a former light heavyweight champion, battles the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier (13-0, fighting out of San Jose, Calif.) in his debut at the 205-pound weight class. Evans comes into the bout sporting consecutive wins over Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen while Cormier is looking to keep his unblemished professional record and make a statement in his new division. The card also features Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace (No. 6) Demian Maia (18-5, fighting out of Sao Paulo, Brazil) matching up against Canadian prodigy and Georges-St. Pierre training partner (no. 4) Rory MacDonald (15-2, fighting out of Montreal, Canada) in a battle of Top 10-ranked welterweights.

The myth of the unbeatable fighter is just that, a myth. In what will go down as the single most memorable UFC fight in history, Ronda Rousey was not only defeated, but systematically destroyed by a fighter and a coaching staff that had spent years preparing for that night. On 2/28, Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey were the two co-headliners on a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The idea was that Holm, a former world boxing champion, would impressively knock out Raquel Pennington, a .500 level fighter who was known for exchanging blows and not taking her down. Rousey was there to face Cat Zingano, a fight that was supposed to be the hardest one of her career. Holm looked unimpressive, barely squeaking by in a split decision. Rousey beat Zingano with an armbar in 14 seconds.
