FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: John Stouffer Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 [email protected] FS1 SETS BROADCAST TEAM FOR COVERAGE OF UFC 203: MIOCIC VS. OVEREEM HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Cormier and Former Welterweight Contender Hardy Serve as Analysts LOS ANGELES – UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (15-2) defends his belt for the first time at home in Cleveland on Saturday, Sept. 10 against No. 3-ranked contender Alistair Overeem (41-14, 1NC) at UFC 203: MIOCIC VS. OVEREEM. To cover the highly anticipated card headlined by the heavyweight title fight, FOX Sports announces that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (@DC_MMA) and former welterweight contender Dan Hardy (@DanHardyMMA) work as studio desk analysts for FS1 alongside host Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant). Megan Olivi (@MeganOlivi) serves as reporter, interviewing fighters backstage. “Stipe is very well rounded, has big power and can wrestle you,” says Cormier. “Miocic needs to get close to be effective. He’s got to do that behind the jab and he’s got to make Overeem uncomfortable. But if Stipe rushes in to get a takedown, Overeem has a very good guillotine choke. He’s a K-1 Grand Prix Champion. He’s not a normal striker in a mixed martial arts fight. He’s adjusted his game in terms of movement, but he doesn’t have the best head movement. We saw Bigfoot Silva put him out with a punch. Miocic should be able to as well.” Watch Cormier’s break down here. Saturday’s coverage features the FS1 UFC 203 PREFIGHT SHOW (7:00 PM ET) on FS1, leading into the FS1 UFC 203 PRELIMS (8:00 PM ET). The two-hour show showcases four exciting bouts, including No. 10-ranked Jessica Eye (11-5, 1NC) facing No. 11 Bethe Correia (9- 2) in a key bantamweight matchup. Brad Tavares (13-4) and Caio Magalhaes (9-2) square off at middleweight, while lightweights Nik Lentz (28-7-2, 1NC) and late replacement Michael McBride (8-1) battle. No. 5-ranked Ian McCall (13-5-1) fights No. 14 Ray Borg (9-2) in a flyweight bout to open the PRELIMS. Joe Rogan (@JoeRogan) and Mike Goldberg (@MFG16) call the fights on FS1 live from Cleveland, while Victor Davila (@mastervic10), Mario Delgado (@mariodelgadorzm) and Erik Perez (@Goyito_Perez) make the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes. The UFC 203 POSTFIGHT SHOW immediately follows the main event with Bryant, Cormier, Hardy and Olivi interviewing winners and providing analysis of the action. The UFC 203 WEIGH-IN SHOW airs live on FS1 Friday, Sept. 9 (6:00 PM ET) with host Bryant, Cormier and Hardy providing insights about the fighters as they tip the scales.
