Italy’s Elvio Cereser (Open) and Sweden’s Michael Johansson (Paralym- pic) got the best times in view of the second competition scheduled on Svetlana Mironova (RUS) ahead of Alexandersson (SWE) Friday morning in Campomuletto di Gallio (Veneto region). WORLD CUP 2021 PRE-BULLETIN Orienteering World Cup 2021 Pre-Bulletin WELCOME TO THE WORLD CUP 2021 Dear athletes, Dear fans of orienteering, We, the World Cup consortium, are happy to be able to present a great program for the 2021 World Cup. The World Cup 2021 will consist of nine competitions over 3 events. The same design as for the World Cup 2020. The locations are carefully selected to shape a series of competitions that place demands on a variety of skills. The first round, in Sweden, will require a high level of technical navigation skills. The second round, in Russia, will be all about speed, in legs and brain. The ability to handle high altitude alpine terrain will be a key skill in the third and decisive round. The program marks a further step towards a consolidation and quality improvement of the World Cup. 2021 will be the second year under the management of the World Cup consortium, consisting of IOF and Verein Swiss Cup. This stability gives good opportuni- ties for making the cup attractive to both athletes, fans and the media. The media is showing an increasing interest and we have reasons to believe that TV coverage will be excellent during 2021. We wish athletes, teams, partners, spectators and fans everywhere welcome to the World Cup 2021. Erleben Sie die Weltelite im Orientierungslauf live in Aarau! www.ol-weltcup.ch Hauptsponsoren BB Biotech Hostcity Aarau wird zur OL-Hauptstadt Die weltbesten Orientierungsläufer sind im Oktober zu Gast in Aarau. Beim Weltcup Final treten sie zum Saisonende nochmals gegeneinander an. Mitte Oktober tri sich die Weltelite im Orientierungslauf zum Weltcup Final im Kanton Aargau. Die drei Wettkämp- fe rund um die Stadt Aarau bilden den Saisonabschluss der internationalen Saison. Am Freitag wird das grosse OL- Wochenende mit dem Final des Sprintstael-Weltcups im Gebiet Aarau Telli eröffnet. Am Samstag wird im Wald Roggenhausen zu einem Weltcuplauf über die Langdistanz gestartet, bevor am Sonntag ein Sprint durch die Strassen und Gassen von Aarau auf dem Programm steht. Mit dem Saisonnal 2016 kehrt die OL-Weltelite zu- rück in den Aargau. Im Herbst 2013 wurde der Weltcup Final rund um Baden ausgetragen – es war der letzte grosse Auritt der 23-fachen Weltmeisterin Simone Niggli. Nun will beispielsweise der Fricktaler Matthias Kyburz als momentaner Leader im Gesamtweltcup Ziele seine Saison erfolgreich beenden. Am Wochenende vom 14.–16. Oktober tri sich nicht nur erreichen die OL-Weltelite im Aargau. Parallel zum Weltcup Final nden auch zwei nationale Wettkämpfe statt, die von den lokalen Vereinen OLK Argus & OLG Suhr Mit uns sind Sie organisiert werden. Damit wird garantiert auf dem richtigen Weg. sein, dass die Weltcup - läufe vor einer Zuschauer- kulisse ausgetragen wer- den, wie man sie nur in der Schweiz kennt.
