    O-RINGEN ARVIKA, 23-28 JULI 2017 Årets höjdpunkt, O-ringen, avgjordes i år i Arvika, Värmland. Senast O-ringen arrangerades i Värmland var 1996, då med Karlstad som centralort. Till årets upplaga var cirka 11 500 personer föranmälda, och inräknat med direktanmälda under veckan slutade deltagarantalet på strax över 15 000 deltagare. Centralorten och campingen var förlagd till Campingen Westlanda flygplats, som ligger i anslutning till Arvika – tillräckligt långt utanför staden för att inte störas av icke behöriga, men ändå på lämpligt gång- och cykelavstånd för allehanda ärenden in i Arvika. På flygfältet erbjöds camping med eller utan el, på mestadels plan och fin åkermark. De flesta löparna från Rävetofta OK hade bokat in sig på elcampingen. Onsdagen innan första etappen öppnades i sedvanlig ordning campingen och delar av centralortstorget. Redan då strömmade det in en hel del orienterare, men den främsta rusningen var under fredagen och lördagen. Hagårds och Byströms anlände på onsdag eftermiddag, och kunde därmed i lugn och ro ställa i ordning tält respektive husvagn med förtält. Invigningen av O-ringen skedde på torget i Arvika Alla ROKare på plats med uppträdanden och tal, men dragplåstret var det som avslutade själva invigningen: Bagheerastafetten för ungdomarna. Denna sprintstafett med fyra sträckor vanns med stor marginal av Dalarna. Skånes lag 1 och 2 kom på en 19:e respektive 12:e plats. Första etappen av O-ringen, söndag 23 juli, gick i skogarna vid Skjutsbol, sydöst om Arvika. Här kastades löparna ut i en oerhört fysiskt krävande terrängen, både sett till kupering och underlaget, som dominerades av blåbärsris och skvattram – ingen mjukstart, med andra ord.

Nicht, dass wir immer im Kopfstand ausharren wollen und dadurch die OL- Erlebnisse verpassen. Die aus einer anderen Perspektive gewonnenen Erkenntnisse jedoch können zu grossen Taten und Veränderungen führen. Dies hat Swiss Orienteering vorgenommen und dabei Neues gewagt. Reorganisation umgesetzt Das erste Verbandsjahr in der neuen Organisation stand unter dem Titel „aufbauen, umsetzen, erproben und justieren“. Das Team unter der Leitung unseres Geschäftsführers lebte sich in die neuen Strukturen ein und verfeinerte das Zusammenspiel vieler Beteiligten, nahm neue Personen in die Arbeiten auf und strukturierte die Abläufe neu. Sehr vieles ist dabei gelungen, einzelne Themen können noch verbessert werden und ein Bereich muss vertieft angepasst werden. Wir sind überzeugt, dass die neue Struktur besser für die Bewältigung der aktuellen und künftigen Herausforderungen geeignet ist. Der Zentralvorstand hat seine neue Rolle gefunden und sich aus dem Alltagsgeschäft zurückgezogen. Neue Themen standen an und die Gestaltung der kommenden Jahre erhält mehr Gewicht. Das Zusammenspiel von Zentralvorstand und Geschäftsleitung konnte insbesondere in der zweiten Jahreshälfte verbessert werden. Neues Erscheinungsbild Eine neue Verbandsstruktur bedingt auch eine neue Gestaltung des Jahresberichts. So liegt der aktuelle Jahresbericht strukturiert nach dem gültigen Organigramm vor und enthält neue Rubriken. Einzelne Themenbereiche sind kürzer formuliert und andere bieten zusätzliche Informationen zum Gesamtverband. Leistungen und Projekte neu finanziert Neben den Verbands- und Veranstalterabgaben erschlossen sich neue Finanzquellen.

Beim Weltcup Final treten sie zum Saisonende nochmals gegeneinander an. Mitte Oktober tri sich die Weltelite im Orientierungslauf zum Weltcup Final im Kanton Aargau. Die drei Wettkämp- fe rund um die Stadt Aarau bilden den Saisonabschluss der internationalen Saison. Am Freitag wird das grosse OL- Wochenende mit dem Final des Sprintstael-Weltcups im Gebiet Aarau Telli eröffnet. Am Samstag wird im Wald Roggenhausen zu einem Weltcuplauf über die Langdistanz gestartet, bevor am Sonntag ein Sprint durch die Strassen und Gassen von Aarau auf dem Programm steht. Mit dem Saisonnal 2016 kehrt die OL-Weltelite zu- rück in den Aargau. Im Herbst 2013 wurde der Weltcup Final rund um Baden ausgetragen – es war der letzte grosse Auritt der 23-fachen Weltmeisterin Simone Niggli. Nun will beispielsweise der Fricktaler Matthias Kyburz als momentaner Leader im Gesamtweltcup Ziele seine Saison erfolgreich beenden. Am Wochenende vom 14.–16. Oktober tri sich nicht nur erreichen die OL-Weltelite im Aargau. The Easter Carnival was well attended by OSA members and their successes on challenging maps have been reported. The NOL and OY events at Renmark provided some great competitive orienteering in splendid weather. The Flinders 3 Day is just upon us so hopefully all have their entries in!! Many of our members have been putting in a great deal of their time to running junior events and training in general.
