FAI Cup Winners (2) Both teams lie in the bottom half of the table going into this game. Wanderers have drawn four and lost once 1990, 1999 while Cork have lost their last four league games. First Division Champions (3) Wanderers have had a bit of an injury crisis so far, 1985/86, 1995/96, 1999/00 particularly amongst the forwards, where Gary Shaw First Division runners-up (2) and Darragh Lynch have both been missed. Lynch has yet to feature this season. 1990/91, 1997/98 On the plus side it was great to see Charlie Gallagher Shield Winners (1) make his first team debut in Cobh last week. Charlie is 1995/96 the latest player to come through the Academy ranks at Bray to play for the first team. Charlie was top scorer for National League B Division Champions (2) the under 17s last season. 1991/92, 1998/99 Our Academy teams returned to training this week in Enda McGuill Cup (1) preparation for the season. Only teams up to under 18 2005 can train now so the under 19s must wait a bit longer to resume training. FAI Intermediate Cup Winners (2) 1955/56, 1957/58 The viewing figures for the live streaming service of Bray Wanderers two home games so far this season FAI Junior Cup Winners (2) have been quite good.

    Fun and Fast Vent User Starts Powerchair Football Club Sean Stamp, Auckland, New Zealand, [email protected] have Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), which means that I lack a protein for building muscle called dystrophin. Because Iof this I had trouble walking because my muscles didn’t develop properly, and as I grew, it got harder and harder to walk. I started using a manual wheelchair at age 11, and since age 12, I’ve used an electric wheelchair. DMD is a progressive disability, and Sean with his mother. at 30 years old, I’ve gradually lost more of the use of my legs and arms but stay active as much as I can through sports. In 2009 I had some respiratory prob- lems and was put on a bilevel machine (ResMed VPAP™ III) overnight to control carbon dioxide because my breathing is very shallow. As time went by I had to start using it during the day too, because when I get tired, I have trouble breathing. It got to the point where I was only off the VPAP Sean and his friend, Jenny, play for two hours a day, which pretty powerchair football. much meant I was stuck in the house. I had a feeding tube put in, as I wasn’t breathing. A course of steroids also eating well, and this helped with my helped my chest muscles, and I was able to be off the VPAP up to about six hours a day. The 2017 Report summarizes the results of all the samples WADA-accredited laboratories analyzed and reported into WADA’s Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) in 2017. This is the third set of global testing results since the revised World Anti-Doping Code (Code) came into effect in January 2015. The 2017 Report – which includes this Executive Summary and sub-reports by Laboratory , Sport, Testing Authority (TA) and Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) Blood Analysis – includes in- and out-of-competition urine samples; blood and ABP blood data; and, the resulting Adverse Analytical Findings (AAFs) and Atypical Findings (ATFs). REPORT HIGHLIGHTS • A analyzed: 300,565 in 2016 to 322,050 in 2017. 7.1 % increase in the overall number of samples • A de crease in the number of AAFs: 1.60% in 2016 (4,822 AAFs from 300,565 samples) to 1.43% in 2017 (4,596 AAFs from 322,050 samples).

    Scottish Disability Sport - The First Fifty Years Richard Brickley MBE Foreword I was delighted to be asked by Chief Executive Gavin Macleod to record the first fifty years of Scottish Disability Sport, to mark the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Association. Initially the project was intended to be small but the more I researched, the more it brought back memories of great athletes, superb volunteers and great times. I became determined to try and do justice to as many as those great people as possible. I am certain I shall have forgotten key people in the eyes of others and if so I apologise profusely. For almost four decades SDS has been for me a way of life. The volunteers I have had the pleasure of working with for almost three decades are those I remember with great fondness, particularly during the early years. I applaud the many athletes who contributed to the rich history and success of SDS over fifty years. Outstanding volunteers like Bob Mitchell, Mary Urquhart, David Thomson, Jean Stone, Chris Cohen and Colin Rains helped to develop and sustain my passion for disability sport. I have been privileged to work with exceptional professionals like Ken Hutchison, Derek Casey, Liz Dendy, Paul Bush, Bob Price, Louise Martin, Sheila Dobie, Fiona Reid, Eddie McConnell, Gavin MacLeod, Mary Alison, Heather Lowden, Lawrie Randak, Tracey McCillen, Archie Cameron and many others whose commitment to inclusive sport has been obvious and long lasting. I thank Jean Stone, Jacqueline Lynn, Heather Lowden, Maureen Brickley and Paul Noble who acted as “readers” during the writing of the history and Norma Buchanan for administrative support at important stages.
