She watches, alert to the breeze and soft movements of leaves. And although she doesn’t think of spirits, she does feel them. In fact, she is at one with them: possessed. She is a wild thing after all – a hunter, a killer, a ferocious lover. Our ancestors lived under that same sky, but they surely dreamed different dreams from us. Who knows what they dreamed? STATEMENT OF HERITAGE SIGNIFICANCE The Rosetta Head Well and Whaling Station Site is on the lands and waters of the Ramindjeri people of the lower Fleurieu Peninsula, who are a part of the Ngarrindjeri Nation. The site represents a once significant early industry that no longer exists in South Australia. Founded by the South Australian Company in 1837 and continually operating until 1851, it was the longest-running whaling station in the State. It played an important role in the establishment of the whaling industry in South Australia as a prototype for other whaling stations and made a notable contribution to the fledgling colony’s economic development. The Rosetta Head Whaling Station is also an important contact site between European colonists and the Ramindjeri people. To Ramindjeri people, the whale is known as Kondli (a spiritual being), and due to their connection and knowledge, a number of Ramindjeri were employed at the station as labourers and boat crews. Therefore, Rosetta Head is one of the first places in South Australia where European and Aboriginal people worked side by side. -
SA TB Services TB Clearance
SA TB Services TB Clearance All students MUST meet the screening requirements of SA TB Services as part of the pre-placement requirements for any clinical health setting. There are three stages to the clearance process. Many students will only need to complete the first stage; however some students will also need to complete the second or third stage. IMPORTANT: Some vaccinations can interfere with the blood test that is used to screen for Tuberculosis. For this reason, you should delay any vaccinations until AFTER you have been cleared by SA TB Services, or until you have received your IGRA test results. Stage 1: Online Questionnaire Complete the online questionnaire found at https://tbq.sahealth.sa.gov.au/tbquestionnaire. Once your responses have been assessed, you will receive an email from SA TB Services advising you that either: a) You have completed the TB Screening requirements, OR b) You are required to attend a GP to arrange an IGRA blood test Stage 2: General Practitioner (GP) – IGRA Test If you are instructed by SA TB Services to undergo an IGRA test, you will need to make an appointment with a GP. You are strongly encouraged to utilise the Flinders University Health Service. You should bring along this bundle of information to all your appointments. At your first appointment, the GP will arrange your blood test. You will be required to see the GP again for your results at a follow-up appointment. Your GP will complete the TB Clearance for Clinical Placement Healthcare Worker form. Based on your test results, your GP will either: a) Sign off indicating that you have completed the TB Screening requirements, OR b) Submit a request for a chest x-ray and for you to make another appointment with GP to review the chest x-ray results. -

Institutionalisation of Aborigines, under the guise of assimilation and protection policies, was only abandoned in.the lg7Os. It is therefore important to understand the implications of these policies for Aborigines and Australian society in general. I investigate the affect of institutionalisation on Aborigines, questioning the assumption tl.at they were passive victims forced onto missions and government stations and kept there as virtual prisoners. -
