The last time I counted, we have 52 entries for the drivers’ school and more people are trying to find rental cars so they can run the School. Dear SCCA Media Partners, Welcome to what is truly a new era of the Sports Car Club of America, as the SCCA National Champi- onship Runoffs heads west for the first time in 46 years to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This event, made possible with the help of our friends and partners at Mazda and the Sports Car Rac- ing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), was met with questions at its announcement that have been answered in a big way, with more than 530 drivers on the entry list and a rejunvenaton of the west coast program all season long. While we haven’t been west of the Rockies since River- side International Raceway in 1968, it’s hard to believe it will be that long before we return again. The question on everyone’s mind, even more than usual, is who is going to win? Are there hidden gems on the west coast who may be making their first Runoffs appearance that will make a name for themselves on the national stage, or will the traditional contenders learn a new track quickly enough to hold their titles? My guess is that we’ll see some of each.

Moving Forward FY2012 ANNUAL REPORT The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people under 24. Every day, The Trevor Project saves young lives through its free and confidential lifeline and instant messaging services, in-school workshops, educational materials, online resources and advocacy. TABLE OF CONTENTS 3 Executive and Board Message 4 Trevor Timeline: Fiscal Year 2012 5 Spotlights 9 Program Introduction Message 10 Trevor’s Programs 14 Donor Report 18 Trevor Board of Directors and Staff 19 Financial Report EXECUTIVE AND 2/3 | Annual Report FY2012 | MOVING FORWARD BOARD MESSAGE Dea r Friends, Thanks to your unwavering support over this past year, The Trevor Project has moved forward and served more lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth than ever before while adding valuable staff members, embracing new executive and Board leadership, and extending Trevor’s reach to new cities nationwide. This year has been full of change, growth, and progress. Our call reports, chat logs, and digital services make it very clear that The Trevor Project is still urgently needed. We saw one of the largest membership increases on TrevorSpace since the program’s inception in 2008 and we watched the number of calls to the Trevor Lifeline surpass 35,000 – nearly 4,000 more than last year. We also expanded the first nationally available chat service specifically for LGBTQ youth in need of support. While we sincerely wish that the need for Trevor’s services would diminish, we are truly grateful to be present to fulfill the needs of young LGBTQ people in crisis.

SIDELINED BY GENDER: EXAMINING THE REPRESENTATION OF THE FEMALE SIDELINE REPORTER by LORI AMBER ROESSNER (Under the Direction of Leara Rhodes) ABSTRACT Tune into college football on any given autumn Saturday, and you are like to observe young, beautiful female sideline reporters. In this study, feminist critical theory and textual analysis are utilized to examine the representation of the female sideline reporter in the 2005- 2006 NCAA Division I-A college football bowl season. To date, little research has been conducted on the representation and role of female sideline reporters. Analysis showed that female sideline reporters were under-represented, objectified and commodified in four select games of the 2005-2006 NCAA Division I-A college football bowl season. The study revealed that representations of female sideline reporters reproduce masculine hegemony. This study adds to the knowledge of masculine hegemony in sports casting which was more stated than corroborated. This study lays the groundwork for future examination of representations of women in journalism through the lenses of feminist critical theory and textual analysis. INDEX WORDS: Female Sideline Reporter, Sports Broadcasting, Journalism, Textual Analysis, Feminist Critical Theory, Masculine Hegemony, Patriarchy.
