Descendants of Richard Hull Descendants of Richard Hull Generation 1 1. RICHARD1 HULL was born about 1750 in Antrim County Ireland. He died about 1818 in Dungiven Derry County Ireland. He married MRS RICHARD HULL in Derry County Ireland. She was born about 1757 in Antrim County Ireland. She died in Unknown. Notes for Richard Hull: Richard Hull is the first ancestor that we can trace back to in our family history. There is no physical record known of him in Londonderry, Ireland but we know through his grandson, Thomas Hull the second, that his name was Richard but we don't know Richards wife's name. When Thomas lived in Idaho with his daughter Isabel he submitted names to the Logan Temple on 2 September 1884. He listed Richard Hull Sr. as his grandfather. We don't know where Richard came from. We do know that they lived in Mulkeeragh where Thomas Hull the first was raised and there were in addition to our family the Smith family and the Miller family who also lived in the same town land which is about 2 1/2 to 3 miles from the Hill foot farm. Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull had the following children: +2. i. THOMAS (1)2 HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1776 in Mulkeeragh Derry County Ireland. He died on 19 Aug 1836 in Dungiven, Londonderry, Ireland. He married ELIZABETH MILLER about 1798 in Unknown, biological daughter of James Miller and stepdaughter of Margaret (Margot). She was born on 16 Apr 1774 in Portglenone Antrim County Ireland. She died about 1832 in Dungiven, Londonderry, Ireland. 3. ii. PEGGY HULL (daughter of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1778. She married ROBERT MCMULLEN. 4. iii. MARIE HULL (daughter of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1779. She married JAMES MC ATEAR. He was born about 1775 in Ireland. 5. iv. JOHN HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1782. 6. v. RICHARD HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1783. 7. vi. SAMUEL HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1784. 8. vii. ROBERT HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1786. He married BETSY MCDARMENT ( BETOG). +9. viii. WILLIAM HULL (son of Richard Hull and Mrs Richard Hull) was born about 1788. He married (1) ANNE BEAUVILLE. He married (2) NANCY BOKEL about 1817 in Mulkeerah, Dungiven, Londonderry, Ireland. Generation 2 2. THOMAS (1)2 HULL (Richard1) was born about 1776 in Mulkeeragh Derry County Ireland. Notes for Thomas (1) Hull: Thomas is buried at the church "at the top of the hill" across the street from the Dungiven Castle. He was the first Hull at the Hill foot farm. We would presume that he built the farm house and buildings. He and his wife Elizabeth Miller (Millar), attended the Bovevagh Presbyterian Church. His son Thomas Hull the second had his first three children Peggy Jane, Adam and Susanna at the same home. The Hulls were farmers as well as weavers. The Miller family also lived in the town land of Mulkeera where Thomas 1 grew up, but were originally from Portglenone, which is about 30 miles over the mountain from Dungiven. Thomas paid rent on his farm to the Ogilvy's who lived at the Pellipar house in Dungiven. Generation 2 (con't) Thomas (1) Hull and Elizabeth Miller had the following children: 10. i. RICHARD3 HULL (son of Thomas (1) Hull and Elizabeth Miller) was born about 1799 in Dungiven, Ireland. Notes for Richard Hull: I have just recieved exerpts of Emma's letters in which she states that her father , Samuel Hull had recieved letters from his brother Richard from Salt Lake City. I have asked Dan and Carol to see if they could come up with something on this and Dan could find nothing on Richard except the ruins of his home in Dungiven.... Richard was the one who left home at about the age of 16 yrs and never wrote to his family until 50yrs later stating that he was living with his youngest daughter. I wish I had those letters. written 19.4.2002 +11. ii. SUSANNA HULL (daughter of Thomas (1) Hull and Elizabeth Miller) was born about 1803. She and Robert had 6 children according to the Church record while living at Boigh, Calhame and Dungiven. They later immigrated we believe to Scotland. A Jane Callaghan married a John Hull son of William within a year of Susanna marrying Robert Callaghan. They could have been brother and sister. John would have been Susanna's first cousin. Robert Callaghan and Susanna Hull had the following children: 23. i. JOHN4 CALLAGHAN (son of Robert Callaghan and Susanna Hull) was born on 12 Dec 1822.

  • The Horan Family Diaspora Since Leaving Ireland 191 Years Ago
A Genealogical Report on the Descendants of Michael Horan and Mary Minnock by A.L. McDevitt Introduction The purpose of this report is to identify the descendants of Michael Horan and Mary Minnock While few Horans live in the original settlement locations, there are still many people from the surrounding areas of Caledon, and Simcoe County, Ontario who have Horan blood. Though heavily weigh toward information on the Albion Township Horans, (the descendants of William Horan and Honorah Shore), I'm including more on the other branches as information comes in. That is the descendants of the Horans that moved to Grey County, Ontario and from there to Michigan and Wisconsin and Montana. I also have some information on the Horans that moved to Western Canada. This report was done using Family Tree Maker 2012. The Genealogical sites I used the most were Ancestry.ca, Family Search.com and Automatic Genealogy. While gathering information for this report I became aware of the importance of getting this family's story written down while there were still people around who had a connection with the past. In the course of researching, I became aware of some differences in the original settlement stories. I am including these alternate versions of events in this report, though I may be personally skeptical of the validity of some of the facts presented. All families have myths. I feel the dates presented in the Land Petitions of Mary Minnock and the baptisms in the County Offaly, Ireland, Rahan Parish registers speak for themselves. Though not a professional Genealogist, I have the obligation to not mislead other researchers.

  • The Mcgrath Family of Truxton 01
The McGrath Family of Truxton, New York Michael F. McGraw 9108 Middlebie Drive Austin, TX 78750 [email protected] March 13, 2002 © Michael F. McGraw 2002 All rights reserved No part of this publication may be reproduced, stored in or introduced into a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means (electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise), without prior written permission of the copyright owner. 2 Cover: The picture on the front cover was taken from the rear of the main lodge of the Labrador Mountain Ski Lodge facing in a northeasterly direction. It was probably taken in the last few years. The lodge itself is located across the road from a small cemetery that is marked by a cross on the 1876 map of Truxton below. The road running north and south, passing by the front of the lodge and extending left and right through the center of the picture, is the North Road. Following this road, also known as Route 91, to the right leads into the village of Truxton about 2 miles south of this location. The significance of this location is that the McGraws and many of their friends and relatives lived in this immediate area. Michael McGraw’s farm on the North Road was located one mile south and across the road from his farm was the John Casey farm. The region out in the flat area over the silo to the left was where John McGraw, Michael’s brother, was living in 1883. His neighbor moving south was Patrick Comerford, brother of his wife Ellen Comerford McGraw.

  • Descendants of William Woodburn (B
Descendants of William Woodburn (b. 1730, Ballintemple, parish of Errigal, Co. Londonderry, N. Ireland) In this record, persons are numbered consecutively. If they married and are known to have children, there is a plus sign (+) in front of their name, which indicates that additional information about them can be found in the next generation. I am solely responsible for all errors in this record. Corrections and additions are appreciated. Stephen W. Johnson 222 Parkman Ave. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213 [email protected] September 12, 2013 Descendants of William WOODBURN 12 September 2013 First Generation 1. WOODBURN was born (date unknown). The name Woodburn is apparently of Scottish origin. It may come from the Scottish term for a small stream--"burn"; hence, wooded burn or tree-lined stream. Woodburn, then, would have been the name given to people living in such an area. The main connection appears to be with the Ayrshire and Dumfries areas of Scotland. There, a George Woodburn was shot for being a Covenanter (Scottish Presbyterians in the 17th cen. who subscribed to various conservative covenants) in 1685. It was not unusual, however, for people from Scotland, in times of religious persecution, to flee to Ireland and England. Thus, for example, there are a number of Woodburns in Pennington Hall, Ulverston, Cumbria Co., England. There, a Robert Woodburne, in 1654, served as the attorney for George Fox, founder of ther Quakers, in acquiring land for the first Quaker cemetery. In Ireland, Carrickfergus Co. in Northern Ireland has an area and a police station bearing the Woodburn name. Despite these connections to England and Ireland, the original Scottish connection seems indisputable.
