Her other family was Lynne and Rayna Stewart, Pace. Lacy passed away Oct. 17, 2012. She was the best friend of a little girl who “always wanted a German shepherd.” Lots of tears have been shed, lots of fond memories and shared moments have happened since her passing. Rayna wants another German shepherd someday, but right now she has seven cats, a hamster and a turtle to keep her busy. Special to the Press Gazette

What does the number 100 bring to mind? 100 dollars, 100 of your favorite things, 100 pets, 100 years or something completely different? While celebrating the 100th day of school on Tuesday, Feb. 5, students at Russell Ele- mentary thought of every 100 concept or idea possible. The faculty, staff and students dressed in their favorite decade or dressed like they were 100 years old ... The school was truly a fanfare of style. Starting off the day on ITV with Digit Diva (1), Zero the Hero(0) and Zerona ( Zeros sis- ter, 0) the kids sang and celebrated their 100th day of school. Teachers had activities planned, while the math coach visited rooms to incor- porate reading, math and songs around the number 100. Many students made shirts, hats, and post- ers showing 100 items of their choice. Many did 100 jumping jacks or walked 100 steps around the school. Some just listed 100 things they would like to have… (Interesting to say the least). The day ended with fi rst graders having a celebration parade outside for all students. Beads and candy were tossed to the rest of the student body and visitors. The most important memory of the day was knowing every child was 100 days smarter! That is what each child celebrated as much as anything else that happened on that spe- cial day.
