Audio Trail Two Count House and Coast: Approximate trail length 1.5 km/1 mile Approximate walking time: Allow 1/1.5 hours

This trail explores with its world famous Crowns’ engine houses, arsenic works and nearby mines. It takes in the Count House owned by the National Trust, which has a free exhibition. For opening times please contact the Count House on 01736 788 588 or visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk.

Starting point: From Botallack you can walk along the and join Audio Trail One, which goes from Geevor to Levant.

By train

• 7 miles from station.

By car/bike

• From Penzance - From the A30 Penzance by-pass taking the main road to St Just (A3071). Follow the brown signs indicating ‘Historic Mining Area’. Continue along the A3071 and fork right on to the B3318 to . Turn left at the cross roads to drive through Pendeen and . On reaching Botallack, turn right into the village and follow the track down toward the Count House.

• From Lands End and St Just - Turn off the A30 to St Just on the B3306. At St Just continue heading toward Pendeen. Botallack is situated approximately 1 mile from St Just.

• From St Ives - Follow the beautiful coast road (B3306) through Zennor and Morvah to Pendeen, Trewellard and Botallack.

• Large free car park in St Just. Free car park at the Count House.

By bus

• From Penzance - FIRST No. 17/A from Penzance.

About the trail

• Approximate walking time: Allow 1 hour. For the optional walk to the Crowns allow another 30 minutes.

• Grade of Walk: Moderate (strenuous in parts, steep path to the Crowns). The terrain consists of unmade tracks and coastal footpaths.

• Accessibility: Not suitable for wheelchair users.

• Toilets: There are toilet facilities at the Count House, when open.

• Health & Safety: The trail takes you through an area of high cliffs and mine shafts. Please take care not to place yourself or others at risk whilst enjoying the landscape. Look out for adders on wall tops!

• Other trails: Part of the trail follows the South West Coast Path. For more information and other walks please visit www.southwestcoastpath.com. You can extend your walk by following this path towards Levant. There is also a Botallack Mine Self-guided Trail leaflet available from the Count House.

• Facilities: There are no refreshments available at the Count House. There are however refreshments available in Botallack village itself.
