MEATH County Meath is in the province of Leinster and is part of the Mid-East Region of Ireland. It has a population of around 195,000 people. The county town of Meath is Navan, where the county hall and government are located, although Trim, the former county town, has historical significance and remains a sitting place of the court. The county is also known by the nickname “The Royal County”, because of its history as the seat of the High King of Ireland in ancient times. Meath’s GAA teams are also nicknamed “The Royals”. Meath County colours are Yellow and Green.
