League members have worked together to focus on common goals and objectives, placing a high value on league harmony, while continuing to invest in athletic programs to compete at the highest level. The Valley brand remains very strong, both regionally and nationally, and the great athletic tradition of The Valley remains a compelling force in recruiting student-athletes and in marketing all the MVC programs. Wichita State’s women’s tennis team earned the 2015 league title and lost in the NCAA First Round. League members for women’s tennis include Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois and Wichita State. 4 2015-16 Illinois State Women’s Tennis SEASON PREVIEW The Illinois State women’s tennis team will play 12 matches at home in the spring, compared to the four they had last season. This year’s roster features four returning players and four newcomers. Leading the flock is second- year head coach Maja Kovacek. “This is something we are really excited about since it will give our players a chance to play in front of their friends and family and enjoy a great atmosphere,” said Kovacek. Returning to this year’s roster is senior standout Kadi Ilves. Ilves capped off her fall 2015 season with a 4-1 overall singles record and 10-1 doubles record with partner Marcia Tere-Apisah. Also returning is junior Chanel Scudiero, and sophomores Valerija Gercar and Catherine Shulman. The Redbirds have added four new members to the team this season: freshman, Jana Kustkova, sophomore Veronika Golanova, junior Marcia Tere-Apisah and senior Sarah Paulson. The Redbirds start off their spring season with a home match against Southeast Missouri State at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Illinois, on Jan. 29. The team will continue its three-game home stand against Western Illinois (Jan. 31) and Eastern Illinois (Feb. 6). “We have a few tough challenges both physically and mentally in the regular season,” said Kovacek. “We will play a double header against UMKC and Iowa, and our spring break trip will feature four matches in six days. It will be physically and mentally very demanding, and a great opportunity to use the depth we have on the team this year.” The team will open Missouri Valley Conference play April 2 at home against Bradley. The Redbirds will continue their home stand against conference foes Evansville (April 9), Southern Illinois (April 10) and Wichita State (April 15) at the Gregory Street Tennis Courts in Normal, Illinois. ISU will finish its home con- ference stand April 16 against Missouri State. To conclude their 2015/16 season the Redbirds will compete in the Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships hosted by Wichita State, in Wichita, Kansas, April 29-May1. 2015-16 Illinois State Women’s Tennis 5 Head Coach MAJA KOVACEK Maja Kovacek began her coaching career at Illinois State in All-American in 2004 and 2006 and a three-year NCAA 2014 following a seven-year career as Oregon’s women’s tennis qualifier (2004, 2005 and 2006). ILLINOISEducating Illinois STATE 2013–2018 UNIVERSITYFISCAL YEAR 2017 PROGRESS REPORT Individualized Attention, Shared Aspirations I am pleased to present the Fiscal Year 2017 Progress Report for Illinois State University’s strategic plan, Educating Illinois 2013-2018: Individualized Attention, Shared Aspirations. The report reflects a wide array of accomplishments the University made in its fourth year of implementing the plan’s goals and strategies. Illinois State continues to thrive as a strong and stable institution in a time of budgetary uncertainty in the state of Illinois. The University community embodies its core values—Pursuit of Learn- ing and Scholarship, Individualized Attention, Diversity, Integrity, and Civic Engagement—and provides supportive and student- centered educational experiences for a high-achieving, diverse, and motivated student body. There is much to celebrate as these achievements represent just a sampling of what makes Illinois State a first-choice institution that is respected nationally. I am very proud to be part of this institution and very much appreciate the diligence, commit- ment, and collaboration of the students, faculty, and staff who made these accom- plishments possible. I look forward to the coming year as Illinois State sets its sights on a new strategic plan that will lead the University to even more success. Respectfully submitted on behalf of the Illinois State University community, Larry H. Dietz President, Illinois State University INTRODUCTION Educating Illinois 2013-2018: Individualized Attention, Shared Aspirations guides Illinois State University and provides a road map for the institution through its vision, values, goals, and strategies. Over the past four years, Educating Illinois has led the University to many achievements and demonstrated Illinois State’s position as a leader and first-choice institution among students, faculty, and staff.

ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY OARD OF B TRUSTEES Report No. 2019.07/1100.01 Campus Master Plan Update Executive Summary Illinois State University values strategic planning. Its culture is infiltrated with plans stemming from all facets of the institution, all integrated with the University’s strategic plan, Educate•Connect•Elevate: Illinois State—The Strategic Plan for Illinois’ First Public University 2018-2023. The current campus master plan, Master Plan 2010- 2030: Looking to the Future, was approved by the Board of Trustees in February 2011. It reflects a long-range plan for the physical development of Illinois State University in its future size, form, function, character, image, and environment. Master Plan 2010-2030 includes 67 recommended actions spanning from instruction, research, and academic support; campus life; administration; Intercollegiate Athletics and recreation facilities; and general campus improvements. Many actions have advanced and are noted in the Master Plan 2010-2030 Progress Report section of the Master Plan Update 2010- 2030. Master Plan 2010-2030 called for a 10-year review and update in order to reflect the current campus, the State of Illinois, and overall higher education environments. In September 2018, President Larry Dietz appointed and charged the Master Plan Update Steering Team to develop an update to the Master Plan 2010-2030: Looking to the Future that considers the realities of operating as a public university in the State of Illinois in lean financial times. The Master Plan Update Steering Team consulted widely with students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and annuitants to assist in determining strategic focus areas that include current and new recommended actions that reflect the University’s priorities for the duration of the life of Master Plan 2010-2030.
