Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! (Matthew 23:15) The latest in America’s endless quest to cram filth down the throats of her youngsters can be found here: http://bit.ly/NYTimesSodomiteArthur with these opening lines: During the season premiere of the animated series “Arthur” on Monday, Arthur, Francine, Buster and Muffy spend most of their time trying to play matchmaker for their third-grade teacher, Mr. Ratburn. In the end, Mr. Ratburn has his own plans. He ties the knot with Patrick, a local chocolatier, at a wedding attended by the students. “Mr. Ratburn is married, I still can’t believe it,” Arthur says. “Yup, it’s a brand-new world,” Francine responds. The episode, titled “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone,” was the latest moment in daytime television to include a more diverse set of characters as it kicked off the show’s 22nd season. The series, which airs on PBS Kids and debuted in 1996, follows the adventures of Arthur, his classmates and his family. So WBC takes its international ministry to this nation’s public television stations to show what Arthur should be inculcating into America’s youth, viz: .

Covered 12 Washington St. topics included: a Midi System, demonstrated and defined by Natick Ma. Accordion Connection’s own John Leeman on an AccTone electronic (508) 655-0669 accordion with Limex system; Accordion Repair Demo (Professional Upcoming Meetings: work and self-repair items that can be done in an emergency); and Quality levels Sept 23 of accordions, amp options. Arthur also had a state of the art tuning system and October 28 not only demonstrated how an accordion is tuned, but also assisted members in Nov\Dec TBD evaluating their accordions and making some spot-tuning adjustments, if necessary. Due to time constraints, Arthur could not cover all subjects but the handout booklet provided was an excellent supplemental reference for those that attended. The Limex (pronounced Lee-mex, not Li-mex) Midi demonstration given by John Leeman (Accordion Connection technician, Midi and microphone specialist) was done using the Accordion Connection's new line of Acctone accordions. Arthur took the time and defined the treble and bass reeds of an accordion and the importance of their tuning in producing the sounds of the accordion. He also explained the concept of why accordions use wood as an amplifier\resonator for the reeds in producing sound (demonstration example of a music box playing while held and the magnification of the sounds when placed on a wooden surface).

~Pryce" Meats and Princes: The Feast as Proving Ground in the Alliterative Marte Arthure and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Mary Frances Zambreno The Alliterative Marte Arthure and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are generally acknowledged as two of the gn:atest works of what is called the fourteenth-century Alliterative Revival. The feasts that open the two poems are similar in that both celebrate the new year at Arthur's court and both are interrupted by unexpected in truders-the Green Knight in Gawain and the Roman emissaries in the Alliterative Mo rte. The New Year's celebration emphasizes the importance of each occasion: the holiday begins the calendar year as the feast begins the poem. Gawain then runs from new year to new year, the cyclical passage of the seasons underlying both its tone and any possible interpretation. In contrast, the Allit erative Morie describes the events of several years, but, as Matthews has pointed out, each festival and season is mentioned only once in the poem, creating the overall reflection of a single year (102-03). A New Year's feast thus begins each poem and then contributes directly to organizing the ensuing action. Any two feasts so similar on the surface must be worth com paring in detail. The initial difficulty in making such a comparison is the fact that feasts are extremely common in romance, espe cially Arthurian romance: Chretien's Hiain, Erec and Enide, and Lancelot, Wolfram von &chenbach's Parzival, and the Mort Artu are only a few ofthe many Arthurian works with important feasts.

  • Experience and Attitudes of Teachers Towards Stuttering Intervention
Experience and Attitudes of Teachers Towards Stuttering Intervention, Education, and Resources Dissertation Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Nikki Jade Placencia, M.A. Department of Education: Physical Activity and Educational Services The Ohio State University 2014 Dissertation Committee: Antoinette Miranda, Ph.D., Advisor Rebecca McCauley, Ph.D. Laurice Joseph, Ph.D. i Copyright by Nikki Jade Placencia 2014 ii Abstract Past research has indicated that teachers play a vital role in supporting the educational development of children who stutter (CWS). Teachers’ attitudes and beliefs regarding stuttering have been shown to influence CWS performance in the classroom. Therefore, teachers need to be appropriately trained and equipped to best serve CWS. Very few studies have focused on teacher training and interest in information regarding stuttering. This current study was designed to support and further the findings of Jenkins’ (2010) study in the hopes of better supporting the interest and needs of teachers to better support CWS. Both studies explored teachers a.) Training in stuttering; b.) Interest in receiving training or information related to stuttering; c.) Awareness of stuttering resources; and d.) Preferred delivery method of stuttering information. Participants included 215 primary and secondary teachers from a large Midwestern school district who completed an on online survey regarding attitudes towards stuttering training and resources. Consistent with Jenkins’ (2010) findings, results indicated teachers had limited to no prior training regarding stuttering; however, the vast majority of teachers expressed interest in receiving stuttering training and resources, with the preferred method for delivery or training being direct contact with speech and language pathologists.

I would also like to thank Professor Filson for his help and support during the development and execution of this thesis. Abstract This thesis will discuss the emerging influence of film review aggregators and their effect on the changing landscape for reviews in the film industry. Specifically, this study will look at the top 150 domestic grossing films of 2010 to empirically study the effects of two specific review aggregators. A time-delayed approach to regression analysis is used to measure the influencing effects of these aggregators in the long run. Subsequently, other factors crucial to predicting film success are also analyzed in the context of sustained earnings.

  • John Lewis' Re-Establishment of Pedestrian Access to Richmond Park
JOHN LEWIS' RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO RICHMOND PARK Purpose This note sets out details of the legal action taken by John Lewis in the 1750s to preserve rights of access to the Park. Some historical background is given to put Lewis' actions into context. Sources The note draws, inter alia, on factual accounts in the following books: ● "Richmond Park: the history of a Royal Deer Park" by Michael Baxter Brown (1985) ● "A History of Richmond Park" by CL Collenette (1937) ● "Richmond Park: Portrait of a Royal Playground" by Pamela Fletcher Jones (1972) ● "The Royal Manor of Richmond with Petersham, Ham & Kew" by Mrs Arthur G (Nancy) Bell (1907) ● "Palaces and Parks of Richmond and Kew" by John Cloake and ● "The Walker's Guide - Richmond Park" by David McDowall (2006) The debt to the writers of these books is acknowledged. Enclosure of the Park In 1637, Charles I completed the enclosure of what is now Richmond Park as his new hunting ground. Prior to that the land, which was at first called "Richmond New Park", had consisted principally of lands owned by the parishes of Ham, Mortlake, Petersham, Roehampton, Kingston, Richmond and Putney. Two farms - Hill Farm and Hartleton Farm - were also located here, and a significant number of landowners had holdings. Certain roads were also in place (see map overleaf). In short, the area was much like any other rural area around which one might have built an eight-mile wall. It can be seen that, prior to enclosure, the principal roads ran between (i) Richmond Gate and Ladderstile Gate and (ii) Ham Gate and a point at the north-eastern end of an ancient road called Deane's Lane.
