The Swan Bells Belltower "Millennium Project Establishes Icon"

Western Australia's Millennium Project, the Swan Bells Belltower, sits in Barrack Square on the edge of the Swan River. In 1988, the twelve bells of St Martin-in-the Fields were presented to the state as part of a program commemorating the Australian Bicentennial. Along with the six new bells, the tower boasts the largest set of change ringing bells in the world. The by bram_souffreau tower, a contemporary design, is particularly striking. The tower also features a wishing wheel and art work by artists and community groups.

St. Mary's Cathedral "Central Catholic Church"

The central church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, St Mary's Cathedral is an unmistakable architectural landmark. Barracks Arch

"Military Memorial"

Both structurally and symbolically significant, the Barracks Arch commemorates the early settlers of 's capital. The arch was once part of a military barracks, designed by Richard Jewell and built in 1863 to house the Enrolled Pensioner Guards and their families. The Old Mill "Charming River Landmark"

Built in 1835, this is one of the oldest commercial buildings in Western Australia. Early European settlers required a windmill to grind grain for flour, thus the Old Mill came into being. As time passed it operated as a chicken farm, tavern, and tearooms. It was eventually restored in the 1950s. Inside the mill an information gallery charts the building's history, by Gnangarra while the grounds feature two open sheds that house 10 horse-drawn carriages.

What was originally built by and for the inmates of Fremantle Prison is a full-fledged tourist site in Freemantle today. Constructed in the 1850s, it operated as a maximum-security prison until 1991, although the final hanging was conducted in 1964. The Round House "History With A View"

A former jail and signal house, the Round House in Fremantle is Western Australia's oldest public building. Completed in 1831, the limestone structure sits on a promontory off the Indian Ocean, providing fantastic views of the coastal setting.
