PAUL G. HAAGA, JR. L’74, WG’74 & HEATHER STURT HAAGA Paul is the retired Chairman of the Board of Capital Research and Management Company, a private investment management firm. Prior to joining Capital in 1985, Paul was a Partner in the law firm of Dechert Price & Rhoads in Washington, D.C. and from 1974 to 1977, he was a Senior Attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Heather, currently an artist residing in California with an extensive background in advertising and marketing in both the public and private sectors, has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit board leadership. Beginning with the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA in 1986, she has since served on 10 boards and committees for both local and global nonprofit organizations. Locally, she is a Trustee and a former Board Chair of Descanso Gardens, a 160-acre green space in La Cañada. She is also a Trustee of the Princeton Theological Seminary, where she also serves as co- Chair of the Bicentennial Capital Campaign, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the Princeton University Art Museum. In addition, she serves as a Trustee for her alma mater, Vassar College; is a member of the Board of Directors for the African Wildlife Foundation; and as Chair of the Salzburg Global Seminar, which drives social change in the areas of imagination, sustainability, and justice on issues of global concern, she has helped to envision a new strategic direction for the next decade.
