Overall, MLB attendance has increased from approximately 54.8 million in 1990 to 78.6 million in 2008. At the heart of this growth has been the development of a new generation of ballparks throughout the United States. From San Francisco to Philadelphia, Denver to Atlanta, and Houston Tropicana Field does not have many of the key attributes currently to construct a retractable roof in the off-season, so accommodation to Cleveland, franchises have been invigorated and strengthened found at fi rst-class ballparks. Langan Mortenson Clark Joint Venture MANICA Architecture coordinated regulatory approvals for the removal of hazardous materials and Kendall/Heaton Associates soil management, modeled groundwater for design and dewatering during construction, and addressed poor soil conditions by recommending the most appropriate foundations, shoring systems, and construction methods. 252 HARD ROCK STADIUM Miami Gardens, FL Team Langan was the geotechnical engineer for the original stadium construction Miami Dolphins Limited in 1986, and all subsequent additions. For this recent project – a 16-acre, HOK 17,000-ton canopy structure – Langan also provided site/civil engineering, Arquitectonica Hunt Construction Group (AECOM) permitting, environmental, and construction dewatering consulting services Stiles Construction for improvements at the home of the Miami Dolphins. Subsequently, Langan Bliss & Nyitray provided services to support construction of the new tennis complex, which Thornton Tomasetti hosts the Miami Open, and a new training facility.
