SHRIMATI ANNPURNA DEVI: SHRI PASHUPATI NATH SINGH: SHRI MAHABALI SINGH: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state : a) whether the Government has started residential coaching programme for children above the age of ten years in Jharkhand and Bihar; b) if so, the sports to which the said coaching programmes are related along with the process being adopted for this purpose’ c) the names of the districts where the said coachings are being run; and d) the number of players selected for the last Olympic and Asian Games from Jharkhand and Bihar? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS (SHRI KIREN RIJIJU) (a) to (c) Yes Sir, Sports Authority of India (SAI) an autonomous body under this Ministry, is running five SAI Training Centre (STC), two Army Boys Sports Companies (ABSC) and one Extension Centre of STC which caters residential sports training facilities in the age group of 10-18 years in state of Bihar and Jharkhand. District wise Sports Training Facilities is at Annexure. Decision for setting up of a new training facility in any region is taken based on the factors like conducive environment for a sports discipline in the particular geographical area and availability of resources. (d) The list of sportspersons, representing India in international events including Olympics and Asian Games is not maintained state- wise. ***** ANNEXURE Annexure referred to in reply to part (a) to (c) of Lok Sabha Unstarred Q No. 2406 for 05/03/2020 regarding Residential Coaching Programme asked by Smt.
