Unfortunately any iPads activated prior to September 1st, 2013 are ineligible to receive these apps and consequently, it is with much regret that we ask families of these devices, to pay an additional fee of $20 to have these apps installed on your child’s iPad. As the iPad Program has developed, we have recognised that it is essential that all students have access to these core productivity apps. If you go to the App Store yourself, you will notice that the total cost of these apps is well in excess of $40. As a school, we are eligible to purchase these core apps in bulk and as such pass the direct savings onto families. If you are unsure whether or not your child qualifies for these apps for free, sign in to your child’s iPad with their Apple ID, go to the App Store and search for one of the apps from the list above. If it is listed ‘free’ or says ‘Get’ then you may ignore this letter. If however it gives you a cost, then we ask that you please pay this additional fee of $20 rather than pay the full cost yourself. Upon receipt of this payment, the ICT Coordinator will then install the apps manually on your child’s iPad. We apologise for the inconvenience this may pose to some families. Once You Have Exported Your Finished Imovie Project As a Quicktime Movie
QuickTime Burning Movies to a DVD nce you have exported your finished iMovie project as a Quicktime movie, you can save the movie file by burning it to a DVD disc. This will create a data DVD that will allow you to play Oyour movie on a Mac or PC. After you insert a data DVD in your computer, copy the Quick- Time file from the DVD to your computer’s desktop first and then open the copied file in QuickTime Player. Playing the file from your computer’s hard drive will ensure proper playback. Note: Data DVDs will not play in a DVD player! Steps to burn a QuickTime file to a DVD: 1. Insert a blank DVD into the computer’s optical drive (Blank DVDs are available for purchase at the front desk.) 2. A window opens that reads” You inserted a blank DVD.” Leave the Action pop-up menu to the default setting Open Finder and click OK. A disc icon labeled “Untitled DVD” appears on the desktop. 3. Type in a name for your disc and double click the icon - a window will open (“Recordable DVD”). 4. Drag the QuickTime file into the window. You can burn more than one file as long as the total file size does not exceed the disc capacity. The files are displayed as aliases, indicated by an arrow. 5. Click the Burn button in the upper right of the window. A new window will open. Make sure you have named your disc properly (you can- not change the disc name later).

You must download the installer and use the html document displayed by the installer to complete installation and to download the additional files. The installer will copy up to three folders to your desktop, depending on the products you selected. If you chose "Easy Install", all three folders will be copied.
