We reduce a large number of species to O. neriiformis and O. sibbaldii, we provide a revised circumscription of O. cumingii and O. undulata and we establish the identity of O. vulpina. In total, we recognize 9 species, with full synonymy, descriptions and distribution maps. A list of identifications is appended. Keywords Oleandra, systematics Introduction Virtually all authors who have dealt with the genus Oleandra Cav. have commented on its distinctness or naturalness. The shrubby growth form, particularly distinct in O. neriiformis Cav., prompted Cavanilles (1799; 1802) not only to derive the genus name, but also the species name from Nerium oleander L. (Apocynaceae). From this it should be clear that he saw the aerial stems of Oleandra neriiformis, of which the forms with distinctly whorled fronds are indeed strongly reminiscent of branches of Nerium olean- der. -

Intro 1996 National List of Vascular Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands The Fish and Wildlife Service has prepared a National List of Vascular Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands: 1996 National Summary (1996 National List). The 1996 National List is a draft revision of the National List of Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands: 1988 National Summary (Reed 1988) (1988 National List). The 1996 National List is provided to encourage additional public review and comments on the draft regional wetland indicator assignments. The 1996 National List reflects a significant amount of new information that has become available since 1988 on the wetland affinity of vascular plants. This new information has resulted from the extensive use of the 1988 National List in the field by individuals involved in wetland and other resource inventories, wetland identification and delineation, and wetland research. Interim Regional Interagency Review Panel (Regional Panel) changes in indicator status as well as additions and deletions to the 1988 National List were documented in Regional supplements. The National List was originally developed as an appendix to the Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States (Cowardin et al.1979) to aid in the consistent application of this classification system for wetlands in the field.. The 1996 National List also was developed to aid in determining the presence of hydrophytic vegetation in the Clean Water Act Section 404 wetland regulatory program and in the implementation of the swampbuster provisions of the Food Security Act. While not required by law or regulation, the Fish and Wildlife Service is making the 1996 National List available for review and comment. -

Revised December 2014 Assessing Bird Species Richness within Shade-Grown Coffee Farms in Chiapas, Mexico / ID: 0251711 Overall Aim The goal of this project was to identify mechanisms and conservation strategies across agro-forestry systems in the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve in Chiapas, Mexico. In particular we analyzed key biodiversity, economic, and social components that impact land-use change and ecosystem services in coffee production areas, focusing on how to improve sustainable production and conservation of nature. 2 Assessing Bird Species Richness within Shade-Grown Coffee Farms in Chiapas, Mexico / ID: 0251711 Section 1 Summary The agroforestry systems with coffee at the Sierra Madre of Chiapas, as a part of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor region, are important for bird species. Agroforestry ecosystems also represent sustainable livelihoods for indigenous groups on the region. Sustainable coffee farming system represents a less human impact on the ecosystem. However, not all coffee producers on the region produce on the same way. Not all the inhabitants are aware of the importance of birds, as a part of the great natural capital of la Sierra Madre, but they either are prepared for the climate change risks and impacts. In this sense, this project seeks to understand, generate and communicate information useful for coffee farmers and their families. The goal is to understand social and economic factors to maintain and increase agroforestry systems with sustainable coffee. -

The phenology, flower morphology, pollination mechanism and reproductive biology of Epidendrum secundum were studied in a semi-deciduous forest at Correspondence the Serra do Japi (SJ), and in the Atlantic rain forest of Picinguaba, both E. Abstract An updated inventory of the Bromeliaceae for Costa Rica is presented including citations of representa- tive specimens for each species. The family comprises 18 genera and 198 species in Costa Rica, 32 spe- cies being endemic to the country. Additional 36 species are endemic to Costa Rica and Panama. Only 4 of the 8 bromeliad subfamilies occur in Costa Rica, with a strong predominance of Tillandsioideae (7 genera/150 spp.; 75.7% of all bromeliad species in Costa Rica). -

John declared the AGM opened and the minutes approved. The President’s full report will be in the next issue of Bromeliaceae. The financial statement was presented by the Treasurer. John thanked his committee for 2012 for their help – Bruce Dunstan and Bob Cross will not be nominating for the committee this year. Bob Cross has been a committee member for 35years. A big thank you was given to both of these members for their commitment to the society. John also thanked all the volunteers and hoped they would be with us again this year.
