Пенжинский омуль Coregonus subautumnalis Kaganowsky, 1932 – эндемик бас- сейнов рр. Пенжина и таловка [1], эволюционно обособившийся от одной из ран- них волн вселения сибирской ряпушки [2]. Омуль – пресноводный, озерно-речной вид, относительно малочисленный, но при этом – важный объект потребительско- го рыболовства [1]. Биология и экология этих рыб изучена достаточно хорошо [1, 3, 4, 5], при этом сведения об их паразитах отсутствуют. Поэтому целью нашей ра- боты являлось изучение паразитофауны пенжинского омуля. Река Пенжина расположена на северо-западе Камчатки и впадает в Охотское море. По площади водосбора (73 500 км2) это самая крупная река Камчатского края, ее воды принимает Пенжинская губа. эстуарию р. Пенжина свойственны экстремально высокие приливы (до 13 м) [6]. Ихтиофауна реки насчитывает 25 ви- дов, многие из которых имеют важное промысловое значение [1]. © Бусарова О. Ю., Коваль М. В., 2018 6 International Scientific Conference. Magadan, September, 18–22, 2018 Материалом для работы послужили сборы паразитов с 23 экз. омуля. Рыб от- лавливали в августе 2015 г. в 12 км от устья р. Пенжина. Рыбы были заморожены, и их дальнейшая обработка проводилась в лабораторных условиях. Паразитологиче- ское вскрытие рыб выполняли по общепринятой методике [7] с учетом специфики работы с замороженным материалом. Рыб не обследовали на наличие простейших в мускулатуре, на поверхности тела, в плавниках и жабрах. Видовую принадлеж- ность паразитов устанавливали по «Определителю паразитов пресноводных рыб СССР» [8, 9]. Средняя длина рыб составляла 7.8 см (5.0–17.5), средняя масса – 11.1 г (1.4–70.3). Всего у пенжинского омуля мы обнаружили 6 видов паразитов, относящихся к 5 классам: Myxosporеа, Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda и Acantocephala. В ткани продолговатого мозга омуля локализовались споры миксоспоридий рода Myxobolus Butschli, 1882 (ИИ = 17.4%). Рыбы являются промежуточными хозяевами миксоспоридий и заражаются ими при контакте с кольчатыми червя- ми – их дефинитивными хозяевами [10]. трематода Pronoprymna petrowi (Layman, 1930) Bray et Gibson, 1980 найдена в кишечнике омуля (ИИ = 8.7%; ИО = 0.4). Цикл паразита не известен, встречается у многих видов морских, преимуществен- но сельдевых, рыб [9]. Метацеркарии трематод рода Diplostomum Nordmann, 1832 локализовались во внутренней среде глаз омуля (ИИ = 21.7%; ИО = 0.3). Основные хозяева стрегиид – рыбоядные птицы, промежуточные хозяева – брюхоногие мол- люски, дополнительные хозяева – рыбы [11]. Личинки Raphidascaris acus (Bloch, 1779) были обнаружены на внутренних органах омуля (ИИ = 4.4%; ИО = 0.4). Де- финитивные хозяева R. acus – хищные рыбы, промежуточные – мирные рыбы (они заражаются паразитом при заглатывании яиц из среды либо при поедании беспо- звоночных), паратенические – беспозвоночные (преимущественно хирономиды), резервуарные хозяева – мальки рыб и беспозвоночные [12]. Pseudocapillaria (Ichthyocapillaria) salvelini (Polyansky, 1952) встречалась в кишечнике омуля (ИИ = 34.8; ИО = 0.7). Основные хозяева капилляриид – преимущественно лососе- образные рыбы, промежуточные и/или паратенические хозяева – олигохеты [13]. Скребни Echinorhynchus cotti Müller, 1776 встречались в кишечнике рыб (ИИ = 24.0; ИО = 1.5). Основные хозяева E. cotti – многие виды пресноводных рыб, про- межуточные хозяева – амфиподы [14]. Анализ содержимого желудков показал, что доминирующее значение в питании омуля имеют мизиды (45.3% от общего числа пищевых объектов), имаго амфи- биотических насекомых (26.5%), личинки хирономид (17.4%), гаммариды (8.4%), доля прочих объектов составляет 2.4%. Паразитологические данные дополняют сведения об экологической нише ому- ля. так, инвазия рыб P. salvelini и миксоспоридиями указывает на питание

Changes in vegetation structure can alter the physical habitat structure, thermal environment, and food available to arthropods, which play an important role in the structure and functioning of Arctic ecosystems. Not only do they provide key ecosystem services such as pollination and nutrient cycling, they are an essential food source for migratory birds. In this study I examined the relationships between the abundance, diversity, and community composition of arthropods and the height and cover of several shrub species across a tundra-shrub gradient in northwestern Alaska. To characterize nestling diet of common passerines that occupy this gradient, I used next-generation sequencing of fecal matter. Willow cover was strongly and consistently associated with abundance and biomass of arthropods and significant shifts in arthropod community composition and diversity.

    1614 A reconnaissance of population genetic variation in arctic and subarctic sulfur butterflies (Colias spp.; Lepidoptera, Pieridae) Christopher W. Wheat, Ward B. Watt, and Christian L. Boutwell Abstract: Genotype–phenotype–environment interactions in temperate-zone species of Colias Fabricius, 1807 have been well studied in evolutionary terms. Arctic and alpine habitats present a different range of ecological, especially thermal, conditions under which such work could be extended across species and higher clades. To this end, we survey variation in three genes that code for phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI), phosphoglucomutase (PGM), and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) in seven arctic and alpine Colias taxa (one only for G6PD). These genes are highly polymor- phic in all taxa studied. Patterns of variation for the PGI gene in these northern taxa suggest that the balancing selec- tion seen at this gene in temperate-zone taxa may extend throughout northern North America. Comparative study of these taxa may thus give insight into the mechanisms driving genetic differentiation among subspecies, species, and broader clades, supporting the study of both micro- and macro-evolutionary questions. Résumé : L’étude des interactions génotype–phénotype–environnement chez les papillons Colias Fabricius, 1807 de la région tempérée s’est faite dans une perspective évolutive. Les habitats arctiques et alpins offrent une gamme différente de conditions écologiques et, en particulier, thermiques dans lesquelles un tel travail peut s’étendre au niveau des espè- ces et des clades supérieurs. The goal of the effort is eventually to operate the route on a year-round basis, offering it to commercial shippers as an alternative, substantially shorter route from northern Europe to the Pacific Ocean in the hope of raising hard currency in exchange for pilotage, icebreaking, refuelling, and other services. Meanwhile, the international law of the sea has been developing at a rapid pace, creating, among other things, a right of transit passage that allows, subject to specified conditions, the relatively unrestricted passage of all foreign vessels - commercial and military - through straits used for international navigation. In addition, transit passage permits submerged transit by submarines and overflight by aircraft, practices with implications for the national security of states bordering straits. This study summarises the law of the sea as it relates to straits used for international navigation, and then describes 43 significant straits of the Northeast Arctic Passage, identifying the characteristics of each that are relevant to a determination of whether the strait will be subject to the transit-passage regime.

    Cooperation on Arctic Research between Japan and Russia Joint Group of Japan and Russia on Arctic Research March, 2015 AERC Report 2015-1 Preface This is the report on the results of the discussions conducted by Japanese and Russian institutes and researchers on Arctic research following the recommendations made by the 11th Japan-Russia Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation in September 2013. The discussions were mainly conducted at two workshops (WSs) held in July and October of 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. The Arctic region has been facing drastic changes in recent years. These changes are affecting the region’s environment and life in society, and moreover pose a threat to affect regions outside the Arctic region as well as the global environment. Clarification of these changes is an urgent issue, and it needs to be carried out by international and domestic efforts as well as through bilateral cooperation. The discussion on cooperative research between Russia, which dominates the largest area in the Arctic region among the Arctic countries, and Japan, which is a non-Arctic country but has long history of Arctic research, will surely make a substantial contribution to the overall understanding of these phenomena. We hope that the discussion made here will be implemented in some manner in the near future. Furthermore, continuous discussions in WSs are needed to narrow the existing gaps between the themes, and define other potential and productive research themes that could not be discussed in 2014. The organizers would like to thank Dr. Vladimir Pavlenko and Professor Tetsuo Ohata who on took the roles of WS coordinators and finishing the report for each side, and the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), which financially supported the realization of the WSs and the development of this report.
