Oxfordshire County Council (Longcot, Shrivenham & Watchfield) (Speed Limits) Order 2021 OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (LONGCOT, SHRIVENHAM & WATCHFIELD) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2021 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 2 August 2021 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 9 August – in response to local road safety concerns & residential development has been to amend the speed limits in Longcot & Shrivenham as follows: 1. 30mph Speed Limit: Longcot Road, Shrivenham – extend the existing limit south-eastwards by approx. 40 metres in place of the existing 60mph national speed limit (NSL) to cover access to a new development. 2. 40mph Speed Limit – in place of the existing 60mph NSL on the following roads in Longcot: (i) B4508 Majors Road – for 185 metres northwards from Shrivenham Road (ii) Fernham Road & Shrivenham Road – extend the existing limit south- westwards to the junction with Majors Road, (iii) Longcot Road – south-westwards from its junction with Majors Road for 117 metres. 3. 50mph Speed Limit: B4508 Majors Road in Longcot/Watchfield – in place of the existing 60mph NSL from its roundabout junction with the A420 Oxford Road, south- eastwards for approx. 1.6km. Additionally, for administrative purposes the following orders covering speed limits within Longcot, Shrivenham & Watchfield have been combined into the new order: The Oxfordshire County Council (Longcot Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2000, (Watchfield Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2000, and (Shrivenham) (Speed Limits) Order 2020. Documents giving details of the proposal are available for public inspection online by visiting: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk Copies may be made available on request. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within 6 weeks from 2 August 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
