Seahawks FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Nick Sero September 13, 2019 (412) 527-6821 Stadium Activities for Steelers vs. Seahawks PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers are encouraging fans to arrive early to enjoy in-stadium pregame activities for the team’s home opener versus the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, September 15. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and all gates will open at 11 a.m. Parking lots will open at 8 a.m. and the Will Call ticket window (Gate B) will open at 10 a.m. 100th SEASON FANTENNIAL The theme for Sunday’s game is “Fantennial” in celebration of the NFL’s 100th season. Throughout the day, fans will notice NFL 100 branding, special programs and activations throughout the stadium, during pre-game and in-game. STEELERS MOBILE APP The Steelers Mobile App will offer fans inside Heinz Field exclusive content only seen when inside the stadium – including an interactive stadium map and new Augmented Reality inside the FedEx Great Hall. When users turn on “Location-Based Alerts” within the app settings, they will have access to on-demand game replays, news catered to their experience in the stadium, access to guest services and more. EARLY ENTRY SPECIALS New this season, fans who enter Heinz Field within one hour of gates opening will be able to take advantage of food specials at all Goalline Stands. For $8, fans can have their choice of two fan favorite combos: Smith’s Hot Dog, bag of chips and 16 oz. fountain drink OR Heinz Field nachos and a 16 oz. fountain soft drink. ON-FIELD ACTIVITIES ANGELICA HALE PERFORMANCE Americas Got Talent Season 12 runner up Angelica Hale will perform her rendition of “Fight Song” as part of pre-game ceremonies on the field at 12:40 p.m. 12-year-old Hale is a transplant recipient and the first kid ambassador of the National Kidney Foundation. NATIONAL ANTHEM The National Anthem will be performed by Angelica Hale. Hale will be accompanied by the United State Army Color Guard. FLYOVER At the conclusion of the National Anthem, fans will see a stadium flyover byt the 2nd Battaliion, 104th Aviation Regiment of Johnstown, PA. – more – TERRIBLE TOWEL TWIRL This week’s Terrible Towel Twirl will be led by Steelers Legend Willie Parker and Rick Hollman, member of the inaugural class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Ford Hall of Fans. COACH OF THE WEEK To celebrate NFL 100, three high school football coaches will celebrated during this Sunday’s game. Western Beaver Head Coach and former Steeler Derek Moye, Riverside Head Coach Ron Sciarro and Blackhawks Head Coach Zach Hayward will be recognized on the field. TOP PLAY IN STEELERS HISTORY REVEAL Throughout the offseason, fans for each NFL team voted on their franchises top plays throughout their history. During halftime, the Steelers will reveal the top play in team history as voted on by the fans. For participating, one lucky fan was randomly selected to win 2019 season tickets and will be celebrated on field. SUPER BOWL TICKET CONTEST Three season ticket holders who voted in the Top Play contest were also selected to compete in an on-field contest to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LIV in Miami. The three contestants will compete to see who can compete to most passes in an on-field target. ATI SALUTE TO HEROES The ATI Salute to Heroes features a local military hometown hero at each game during the first break of the 3rd quarter. This week, the team will honor World War II veterans, and brothers, Corporal Theodore Joseph Sikora and Seargeant Ed Sikora of Washington, PA. Cpl. Sikora will turn 100-years-old this year, while Sgt. Sikora will turn 95. PRE-GAME ACTIVITIES STAGE AE TAILGATE ZONE Fans are encouraged to stop by Stage AE, the Official Tailgate Zone of the Steelers. Admission is free and the doors open at 9 a.m. Vertigo Red will be performing on the outdoor stage (weather pending). The Pittsburgh Knights esports organization will also be set up on the Club Stage inside of Stage AE throughout the 2019 season. Fans will be able to take part in a FREE play arcade setting featuring today’s games and consoles. Fans will be able to participate in Steelers prize giveaways, including autographed items and a “jersey upgrade” where one fan can exchange their used jersey for a brand-new Steelers jersey. Food and drink specials will be available during the tailgate, including a $5 all-you-can-eat Nacho special and $5 24 oz. beers. The Steeline Drumline will lead a Steelers Nation Unite Parade from Stage AE to the stadium approximately 60 minutes before kickoff. – more – ART ROONEY AVENUE Before each game, fans are invited to participate in free activities along Art Rooney Ave. outside of the stadium three hours prior to kickoff. Fans can purchase food and drinks while enjoying experiences inside the Gameday Live Tents, a meet-and-greet with Steely McBeam, take photos with giant Steelers gloves, enter to win prizes from various Steelers partners and more. IN-STADIUM ACTIVITIES PITTSBURGH KNIGHTS GAMING ZONE New for 2019, the Pittsburgh Knights will set up a FREE play gaming zone featuring EA Sports Madden on XBOX and Playstation. Fans can play their friends through 15 stations located in the South East patio, next to the Ford Fan Zone. 50/50 RAFFLE For all home games in 2019, the Steelers have a 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefiting local charities. One fan will take home half of the prize and, for this game, the other half will benefit the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund. The winning number is announced after the end of the third quarter. FEDEX GREAT HALL The FedEx Great Hall along the east side of the stadium will offer fans an in-stadium experience unlike any other. With a pre-game show featuring live music from DJ Steve Maffei Jr. starting when gates open at 11 a.m., fans will be able to listen to great music while visiting the Steelers Walk of Fame and Hall of Honor and enjoying food and drinks from nearby concessions stands. FORD FAN ZONE The Ford Fan Zone is located under the scoreboard in the south end zone and features activities for fans at each home Steelers game, including the POW-MIA Memorial Seat and corresponding plaque. This week, Steelers Hall of Honor inductee Larry Brown will meet fans for photo opportunities from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. NFL BAG POLICY Heinz Field encourages fans to not bring in any type of bags. Aside from occasional fan mail and Golden Quill awards, sportswriters rarely receive accolades, yet they were and often still are a prime conduit between athletes and fans. During the age when newspapers were the main source for news and opinions about sports, Pittsburgh’s top sportswriters wrote daily columns, sponsored major charities, and became household names.
