It is with great sadness that bid our intern, Lusanda Luthuli, farewell. How quickly the year has raced by. He is the most delightful person with integrity, amazing in one so young. He has always been punctual, polite and did all that was asked of him and more. The old fashioned formality of newspapers is changing and, after spotting his talent as a columnist/blogger and profi le writer, I decided to throw Lusanda into the creative side of writing giving him carte blanche regarding topics and so on. He rose to the challenge and attracted the 20 to 30 age group readers. His, The Grubber blog, on our website also impressed. He is quiet and serious about his work. His sweet nature won over the rest of the staff who enjoyed having him as part of the team. At our Caxton Local Media community newspapers’ newsroom, we believe in nurturing talent and have a softer approach regarding our interns as it can be quite overwhelming. We wish him all the best in his future career and know that he will be one to watch. Students come and go, but Lusanda has left his mark and we will miss him! - Michelle Dennis Pack of 12 750ml R66
