Answered On:12.12.2000 Water Supply Schemes Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar;Thaawar Chand Gehlot GOVERNMENT OF INDIA URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVATION LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO:3562 ANSWERED ON:12.12.2000 WATER SUPPLY SCHEMES SRIKANTA DATTA NARASIMHARAJA WADIYAR;THAAWAR CHAND GEHLOT Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVATION be pleased to state: (a): the details of proposals received by the Union Government from various States for water supply schemes during 1998-1999, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001, till date State-wise; (b): the details of proposals cleared/rejected/pending with the Union Government during the said period alongwith the progress of projects, State-wise and scheme-wise; (c): the time by which the clearance is likely to be given to the pending schemes; (d): the names of cities likely to be benefited under these schemes, State-wise; (e): the financial assistance provided to various States under these schemes during the said period, State-wise and scheme-wise; (f): the criteria laid down for providing financial assistance to States in this regard; (g): whether the Union Government have received any requests from various States for additional Central assistance for implementing the ongoing schemes; and (h): if so, the details thereof alongwith the additional assistance provided to States during the above period State-wise? Answer MINISTER OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT & POVERTY ALLEVIATION ( SHRI JAGMOHAN ) (a)&(b): Details of proposals received under the Centrally sponsored Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme (AUWSP)a re at Annexure-I. (c): The approval of schemes depends upon techno-economic feasibility and availability of funds under the Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme (AUWSP). (d): Information is at Annexure-II. (e): The Central funds under AUWSP are not released projectwise/schemewise. Details of funds released by this Ministry to different State Governments during the last three years is at Annexure-I. (f): Under the Centrally sponsored AUWS Programme, fundsa re provided for provision of water supply to towns having population less than 20,000 as per 1991 Census. Funds are provided on 50:50 matching basis by the Central and the State Governments. (g): No requests have been received in this Ministry from the State Governments for additional Central assistance under AUWSP. (h): Does not arise.     STATE OF ENVIRONMENT (SOE) REPORT – TIKAMGARH Executive Summary Welcome to the Tikamgarh State of Environment Report. The State of Environment Report provides a summary of the environmental attributes and condition of the district and the human impacts on the environment. It also provides a public record of district authority, industry and community activities and achievements in responding to pressures on the environment. State of the Environment Reports can therefore be considered as a mechanism for reporting on progress towards Environmentally Sustainable Development (ESD). State of the Environment (SoE) Reporting will be an annual requirement of district authority, coinciding with Annual Plan and prepared for each financial year. It involves looking at: the various pressures on the environment; the state or condition of the environment at the time of reporting; and any responses that has been or will be made to better manage environmental pressures or impacts to improve environmental conditions. So the main objective of the SoE Report of Tikamgarh is to bring out an overview of the environmental scenario of the district to serve as a baseline document and assist in logical and information based decision making. It is recognized that to achieve ESD within district the activities of annual plan require a shift in priorities, which involves the integration of environmental considerations into the development of community goals/targets, strategies, economic policies, and decision-making in every sphere of activity. The SoE Report provides a mechanism for identifying sustainability issues and trends, and therefore provides a mechanism for assisting the prioritization of district plan in achieving ESD The State of the Environment Report prepared for Tikamgarh covers the state and trends of the environmental issues like Agriculture, Forest, Land degradation, Water quantity, and Water quality.

Hilli KVK, Saidapur Farm, University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad, Karnataka, India [email protected] Rowing surveys were carried out during 2012 in both kharif and rabi seasons in Dharwad district. Karnataka, India During kharif -2012 , the population of Spodoptera litura was noticed to the tune of 2.5 to 3.25 larvae/mt row on groundnut and 2.0 to 3.0 larvae /mt row on soybean in different taluks of Dharwad district. Maximum population (3.25 larvae /mt row) of S. litura was recorded in a groundnut ecosystem and infection of Nomuraea rileyi (10 %) was noticed in soybean in the Kalaghatagi taluk. Incidence of Apion weevil was noticed in green gram ecosystem in different taluks viz., Hubli, Dharwad and Kundgol. The green gram pod damage due to Apion weevil ranged from 13.0 to 15.5 percent. In different taluks like Hubli, Dharwad, Kalaghatagi and Navalgund, incidence of stem borer in maize causing dead heart symptoms appeared to the tune of 4.5 to 9.3 percent. A maximum of 9.3% damage was recorded in Kalagatagi taluk. In Bt cotton, incidence of different pests like aphids leaf hoppers, whitefly and shoot weevil was recorded except in Navalgund taluk. In Hubli, Dharwad, Kalaghatagi and Kundagol, incidence of aphid, leaf hoppers and white fly was to the tune of 3.8 to 4.5, 4.0 to 5.5 and 2.0 to 3.0 individuals per leaf respectively.
