So the young Shrek set off, and eventually found a patch of swampland far away from the world that despised him. Many years pass, and the little ogre grows into a very big ogre, who has learned to love the solitude and privacy of his wonderfully stinky swamp (Big Bright Beautiful World.) Unfortunately, Shrek’s quiet little life is turned upside down when a pack of distraught Fairy Tale Creatures are dumped on his precious land. Pinocchio and his ragtag crew of pigs, witches and bears, lament their sorry fate, and explain that they’ve been banished from the Kingdom of Duloc by the evil Lord Farquaad for being freakishly different from everyone else (Story Of My Life.) Left with no choice, the grumpy ogre sets off left to right Jacob Ming-Trent to give that egotistical zealot a piece of his mind, and to Adam Riegler hopefully get his swamp back, exactly as it was. -

PLAYBILL CHRISTIAN FAMILY THEATER - ONLINE SHOWS CHRISTIAN FAMILY THEATER PRESENTS NOV 20 - DEC 18, 2020 Our Pandemic Response Dear CFT Family, Thank you so much for your support of Christian Family Theater. This year has been a very challenging year for our world. On March 12 CFT made the call to halt rehearsals for High School Musical Jr. which was slated to open in April. It was one of the most difficult decisions we have ever made as an organization but we knew that no matter how hard, it was the right one. As we began to realize that organizations like ours we going to have to wait much longer than anticipated before we could resume live productions our staff began looking into ways to keep performing arts alive for our young actors. Over the summer we, took online classes, learned new software platforms, purchased new equipment and services as well as putting new infrastructure in place. All these efforts would allow us to continue offering performance arts to our young actors by producing online musicals using the zoom platform. As the year continued we began to realize that organizations like ours which depend on revenue from event ticket sales were going to be closed much longer than anticipated. But each month bills for our overhead expenses continue to arrive. Even as our executive staff has chosen not to be paid for the hours they working, we continue to pay out more than we can generate each month. As we are coming to the end of 2020 we hope that you would consider a tax deductible gift to CFT to help us continue to pay the necessary overhead to keep our organization open. -

Traditional types of marketing, such as TV and print ads, no longer engage consumers as they once did. Consumers have built up a tolerance to traditional forms of advertising and learned how to block them out. Marketers now have to develop innovative ways to reach their target marketss. Guerrilla marketing has the potential to break through the clutter by engaging with consumers in new and personal ways. Performing arts, Broadway specifically, lends itself well to guerrilla marketing because guerrilla marketing can offer consumers a taste of the show before deciding to purchase tickets. The following thesis involves developing guerrilla- marketing campaigns for the Durham Performing Arts Center to use in the promotion of In the Heights and Shrek the Musical. The plan for In the Heights has two target markets, the primary being young professionals and the secondary being the Hispanic community. -
