2012-08-21 15:30 CEST Levellers i toppform till København i oktober Danmarks-aktuella the Levellers har haft en hektisk sommar med albumrelease och festivalspelningar. Recensionerna både vad det gäller skivan och konserter har varit överväldigande och lovar en live-upplevelse utöver det vanliga när bandet den 27 oktober kommer till VEGA i København. Brittisk press skriver bland annat att sångaren Mark Chadwick är bättre än någonsin, energin på topp och att bandet levererar en set-lista som är "absolute classic". Folk/rock-bandet Levellers från Brighton uppnådde närmast ikon-status under 90-talet och när bandet nu närmar sig sitt 25-årsjubileum gör de det med glöden och orginalmedlemmarna i behåll. Den 29 juni släppte de ett album som hyllats som något av det bästa bandet gjort. Tidningen Classic Rock ger skivan 8 av 10 möjliga och skriver bla att detta är albumet dom tystar kritikerna och belönar de trogna fansen. Albumet ”Static on the airwaves” skildrar en kontinent i kris. - Politikerna och bankerna har dumpat bördan på de som ligger underst i högen, säger Mark Chadwick. Nu betalar de priset för förödelsen som andra orsakat. På 90-talet var The Levellers ett av de verkligt stora bandet och många minns nog deras bejublade framträdanden då de var huvudakter på såväl Hultsfreds som Roskilde vid ett flertal tillfällen. 2011 belönades de på BBC Radio 2 ”Folk award” med motiveringen ”bara de starka överlever och The Levellers har gjort det genom att vara trogna sina rötter”, ett påstående som bekräftas med råge på det nya albumet. Na albume ďalej hos ťujú zvukový virtuóz Michael Meltzer, kurdská spevá čka Ilana Eliah a Lianne Aharoni.
