Ray-Statz’s Coaching History Washington Head Coach: 2017-present Washington Associate Head Coach: 2015-16 Washington Assistant Coach: 2011-15 Assistant Coach Ralph Rosso Assistant Coach | 2nd Season

Ralph Rosso joined the Washington gymnastics coaching staff in June of 2017. Before UW, Rosso was an assistant at George Washington University. He is in his second stint in the Pac-12 Conference, having spent the previous two seasons at Arizona State, as an assistant coach and interim head coach.

In his first year with the GymDawgs, Rosso helped the team win four bars event titles, including a 9.950 score from Moni- ca Riley that was the highest by a GymDawg all last season. Washington put up a bars team score over 49.000 in each of the last 12 meets and, in March, had a score of 49.375, its highest bars score since 2011.

In 2017 at GW, Rosso helped the Colonials to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League championship and a berth in the NCAA Regionals, where a GW gymnast won the program’s first-ever NCAA Regional individual title, on the vault. Two individuals earned individual berths to nationals, the most ever at GW. A total of eight gymnasts earned All-EAGL honors.

At Arizona State, Rosso aided in the development of nine Ac- gan men’s gymnastics team as a volunteer assistant in 2010, ademic All-Pac-12 gymnasts, three All-Pac-12 selections and when the Wolverines won the NCAA Championship. Rosso five NCAA qualifiers, including an individual regional champion. is also a two-time member of the U.S. Junior National Team.

He graduated from the in 2009. He spent the 2013-14 season as an assistant at Western Mich- igan, after having spent two seasons at Arkansas, serving as team manager while working on a master’s degree. In his two seasons with the Razorbacks, the team finished 10th and sixth in the nation.

A standout gymnast at the University of Michigan, Rosso let- tered from 2006-09, helping the Wolverines to the Big Ten title as a senior. He competed at NCAA Championships all four years and finished ninth on still rings in 2007. He also made it to the Big Ten finals on pommel horse and rings in 2007, and to two more finals in 2009, on rings and floor.

Wiest enters his third season with the GymDawgs having helped the team to a number of successes, including multiple NCAA Nationals trips. Last season, Wiest helped Washington win seven vault event titles and ten floor titles, including the NCAA Regionals championship on floor.

In his first year with the GymDawgs, Wiest helped Washington reach the NCAA Championships, where they finished eighth. That was the second-highest finish ever by the Huskies as the NCAAs and highest since 1998. The second-place finish at the Regional Championships in 2017 was also the highest finish by the Huskies since 1998. Wiest also helped four Huskies make the All-Pac-12 team, with Joslyn Goings making the First Team and Hailey Burleson, Kaitlyn Duranczyk, and Alexandra Yacalis making the Second Team.

Wiest joined the Huskies following three years as an assistant at the University of Illinois where he was focused on coaching the vault and floor lineups. Most recently, Wiest helped freshman Lizzy LeDuc advance to the NCAA Championships after she claimed the floor title at the Salt Lake City Regional with her and Tourism degree and then headed to Bowling Green career-high score of 9.950, which also ranked third in Illinois where he spent two seasons as the vault and floor exercise history. During his time at Illinois, he helped coach vault and coach at Bowling Green prior to joining Illinois in 2013. At floor lineups that ranked in the top 30 nationally along with Illinois, Wiest was a two-time All-American on floor (2007, posting some of the best marks in program history. The Illini’s 2010), finishing in third place at the NCAA Championships 49.400 performance at the 2015 Big Ten Championships was both times. 2019 (Senior) Matched her career high on beam with a score of 9.900 at Arizona.

2018 (Junior) Had a score of 9.800 on beam against Oregon State... Set a career high on beam in just her third competition of the year with a score of 9.900 against Arizona State... Also had a score of 9.825 on beam against Stanford... Won the beam event title with a career-high score of 9.900 at Southern Utah... Put up a score of 9.850 on beam against UC Davis/Seattle Pacific.

2017 (Sophomore) Recorded a score of 9.850 on the beam against Arizona as well as at the Pac-12 Championships... Had a 9.800 on the beam against Oregon State... Put up a 9.875 on the beam against Seattle Pacific, her highest score of the year.

2016 (Freshman) Made her collegiate debut against Ohio St. and posted a 9.75 on beam.
