Ray-Statz has also played a key role in landing high-profile recruits for the Huskies including the class of 2016 which features the 2016 Junior Olympics National Bar Champion in Evanni Roberson and Madison Copiak, who is currently competing for a chance to represent Can- ada at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 2017’s recruiting class was just

Ralph Rosso joined the Washington gymnastics coaching staff in June of 2017. He comes to the UW from George Washington University, where he was an assistant last season. He returns to the Pac-12 Conference, having spent the previous two seasons at Arizona State, as an assistant coach and interim head coach.

In 2017 at GW, Rosso helped the Colonials to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League championship and a berth in the NCAA Regionals, where a GW gymnast won the program’s first-ever NCAA Regional individual title, on the vault. Two individuals earned individual berths to nationals, the most ever at GW. A total of eight gymnasts earned All-EAGL honors.

At Arizona State, Rosso aided in the development of nine Ac- ademic All-Pac-12 gymnasts, three All-Pac-12 selections and five NCAA qualifiers, including an individual regional champion.

He spent the 2013-14 season as an assistant at Western Mich- igan, after having spent two seasons at Arkansas, serving as team manager while working on a master’s degree. In his two seasons with the Razorbacks, the team finished 10th and sixth in the nation.

A standout gymnast at the , Rosso let- tered from 2006-09, helping the Wolverines to the Big Ten title as a senior. He competed at NCAA Championships all four years and finished ninth on still rings in 2007. He also made it to the Big Ten finals on pommel horse and rings in 2007, and to two more finals in 2009, on rings and floor.

Following his collegiate career, he helped coach the Michi- gan men’s gymnastics team as a volunteer assistant in 2010, when the Wolverines won the NCAA Championship. Rosso is also a two-time member of the U.S. Junior National Team. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2009. Assistant Coach Chad Wiest Assistant Coach | 2nd Season

In his first year with the Huskies, Wiest helped Washington reach the NCAA Championships, where they finished eighth. That was the second-highest finish ever by the Huskies as the NCAAs and highest since 1998. The second-place finish at the Regional Championships in 2017 was also the highest finish by the Huskies since 1998. Wiest also helped four Huskies make the All-Pac-12 team, with Joslyn Goings making the First Team and Hailey Burleson, Kaitlyn Duranczyk, and Alexandra Yacalis making the Second Team.

Wiest joined the Huskies following three years as an assistant at the University of Illinois where he was focused on coaching the vault and floor lineups. Most recently, Wiest helped freshman Lizzy LeDuc advance to the NCAA Championships after she claimed the floor title at the Salt Lake City Regional with her career-high score of 9.950, which also ranked third in Illinois history. During his time at Illinois, he helped coach vault and floor lineups that ranked in the top 30 nationally along with posting some of the best marks in program history. Wiest, graduated from Illinois in 2011 with a Recreation, Sport and Tourism degree and then headed to Bowling Green where he spent two seasons as the vault and floor exercise coach at Bowling Green prior to joining Illinois in 2013. At Illinois, Wiest was a two-time All-American on floor (2007, 2010), finishing in third place at the NCAA Championships both times.
