Dog Exercise Options Please respect the common areas off the lobby where there are flowers and where guests enter and leave the hotel and show site. There are no dogs allowed on the golf course. If your dog has an accident in the hotel, please clean it up immediately, and if you need help, please ask for it, don’t just leave the mess. There are a couple of dog parks in the area. Informa on will be found in the welcome bags. We are also planning to have a couple of dog runs set up over by the tennis courts on the west side of the property. Please clean up a er your dogs in these runs and please share.
Show Site The show site, known as the Mega Center is located just East of the hotel. You simply need to walk thru the hotel, cross the small service road and you are in the Mega Center. You can also park your vehicle in the lot directly in front of the Mega Center.
RV Parking All RV Parking reserva ons in 2018 will be handled directly by SHCA RV Parking Chairs, Margit & Danny Brand. Alex Kiryk will help you park your vehicles. The rate is $125 per week. “Submission of an entry form and/or physical presence on the show grounds shall cons tute both implied and real consent for both the handler and their dog to be video recorded by Show Dog Video Pros for event DVD sales and online video streaming” The professional video services and live streaming at this show are governed by an exclusive video contract with the Club. No other commercial video recording, video recording from a tripod, monopod or other supported camera/device, or any video recording or streaming of large parts or whole classes shall be permi ed. The contract terms permit individuals to record small bits of video of their own dogs only, and using handheld devices only (e.g. phone, tablet or small camcorder). Individuals may post recorded videos of their own dogs to social media (Facebook, YouTube, etc.). However, during show hours LIVE Broadcast Streaming to social media (e.g., Facebook Live) is not permi ed. Submission of an entry form and/or physical presence on the show grounds shall cons tute both implied and real consent for both the handler and the dog to be professionally video recorded and streamed live only by the professional video services as contracted by the Club for this show. All rights to video record and live stream or otherwise exploit this event and/or the persons or animals par ci‐ pa ng in it, including the names, likenesses and biographical ma er of dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels par cipa ng in the event shall belong solely to the show giving Club and/or the American Kennel Club, Inc. Pee Wee Junior Handling Special Attraction Date: Saturday, October 20, 2018
Entry Fee for Pee Wee Showmanship is FREE, A Ribbon and Toy will be given to each Pee Wee unit. Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/her parent/guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a me. This is not a compe ve class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult. The Pee Wee class is geared toward children 5–9 years of age. Safety is a primary concern. A dog must be a Siberian Husky at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee class. Bitches in season will not be allowed to par cipate. If pre‐entered, a dog may be subs tuted that meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club. All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar. A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. Sled Dog Class, SD Degreed ‐‐ A class for dogs and a class for bitches that have earned the SHCA tle of Sled Dog (SD) but that have not earned any of other SHCA sledding tles (SDX or SDO). Sled Dog Class, SDX or SDO Degreed – A class for dogs and a class for bitches that have earned the SHCA tle of Sled Dog Excellent (SDX) or Sled Dog Outstanding (SDO). Sled Dog Class Rules ‐ Dogs may NOT be spayed or neutered 1. Entry must be an American Kennel Club or Canadian Kennel Club registered Siberian Husky (eligible under Chapter 15, Sec on 1, AKC Rules Applying to Registra on & Dog Shows). 2. There will be a class for dogs and a class for bitches. At the discre on of the Show Chair addi onal classes may be offered based on the requirements of the Sled Dog Degree Program. 3. If entered in a class for which a full entry fee was paid, no addi onal fee will be required to also exhibit in the Sled Dog Class. If not, the entry fee to exhibit solely in Sled Dog Class will be a regular entry fee. 4. To qualify for entry in the Sled Dog Class the dog must have completed one of the following three requirements: a. During the previous racing season, the applicant must complete ten (10) heats on snow with a minimum of four (4) miles per heat, or the total miles per season not being less than Of the 48 miles up to 12 miles (25%) can come from Dryland Rig Races but the applicant must complete at least two (2) heats with a minimum of three (3) miles per heat. Dryland races must be on rigs. Rigs used must meet the defini on of rig as defined by ISDRA under Dryland Races Rules All races both snow and dry land must be under the direc on of a Recognized Race Giving Organiza on with rules and recorded results. A Race Season is from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. b. Entries who complete five (5) years in compe on where the above rules are met shall be automa cally qualified for the Sled Dog Class. A cer ficate of proof may be issued by the Chair of the Working Commi ee if the 5 years of proof of compe on records are sent in. c. Entries who have been awarded an SHCA Sled Dog Cer ficate, either SD, SDX, or SDO, and are addi onally eligible for entry in a conforma on class at an AKC event, are eligible to compete in the Sled Dog Class. 5. Spayed or neutered dogs are not exhibited in the Sled Dog Class as required by the Ameri‐ can Kennel Club. A list of the races in which the dog competed, or a copy of the five year cer ficate or a copy of the Sled Dog Degree must be sent to the Show Secretary when entry is made. Proof of qualifi‐ ca on must be available at ringside with one of these shown if challenged. Tuesday, October 16 - Saturday, October 20, 2018 9 Non-Regular Classes (Additional) Involving Multiple Dog Entries NOTE: As the judges’ decision in the Non‐Regular Classes Involving Mul ple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Chapter 11, Sec on 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that a “castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.” Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and two (2) of their get. Stud Dogs may be entered in one of the Regular Classes, Performance Classes, or Best of Breed Compe on. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its disqualifica on or excus‐ al under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered individually in one of the Regular Classes, Performance Classes or Best of Breed Compe on. Brood Bitch Class – Same as Stud Dog, except subs tute “Brood Bitch” for “Stud Dog” and “Produce” for “Get”. Brace Class – The Brace Class shall be for two dogs of at least one iden cal owner or co‐owner regard‐ less of sex. The two dogs comprising the Brace shall be considered a unit and they must be named at me of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of a brace is not entered in a regular , non‐regular class or Best of Breed Compe on, the dog must be entered for “Brace Class Only.” In making entries for Brace Class Only, full par culars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a brace, MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for ADDITIONAL CLASSES – “Brace Class.” If more than one Brace is entered by the iden cal owner, the dogs comprising EACH brace must be designated, “Brace No. 1”, “Brace No. 2”, etc. Please submit Brace entries together. TEAM – Same as for Brace Class, except it will be for four dogs of the same breed, with at least one iden cal owner or co‐owner. Please Note: In making entries for Brace or Team, the other entries comprising the unit must be iden fied on the entry form for each dog. For online entries, the nota on can be made in the “comments” field.
Junior Showmanship Novice Junior 9 & under 12 yrs • Open Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Novice Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs • Open Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs • Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs • Master Novice Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competi‐ tion present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class ‐ for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all partici‐ pants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.
No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to anoth‐ er, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department (919) 233‐9767. BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on the front and back of the entry form, otherwise the entry In Junior Showmanship will not be accepted. 10 The Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc Division of Entry Money as Prizes for Puppy, Veteran, and Sled Dog Sweepstakes 35% of total entry fees will be retained by the Club for expenses; with 65% of total entry fees going toward purse. 10% of the total entry fees will be awarded to Best in Sweepstakes; 5% of the total entry fees will be awarded to Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes; the 50% of total entry fees are allocated in the classes as follows:

Dogs entered in Puppy Sweepstakes Classes must be entered in a Regular or Non‐Regular Class in Conforma on, Obedience, Rally and/or Agility at full entry fee. On the regular entry form Sweepstakes classes are shown as an “Addi onal Entry”.

Entries will close Wednesday Noon, September 19, 2018 at Foy Trent Dog Shows. Entry Fee: $20.00 per puppy (including AKC recording fee of $2.00 for each dog.).
Sec on 1‐ Classifica ons The Four‐to‐Six Month Puppy compe on shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the event. Sec on 2 – Entry and Eligibility Entry and eligibility requirements include: The Four‐to‐Six Month Puppy event may be offered at licensed or member dog shows at the op on of the show giving club. Four‐to‐Six Month Puppy Compe on must be listed in the premium list, entry form and judging schedule, if offered. AKC registra on number or an AKC li er number will be required for all entries. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol. Dogs that are owned or co‐owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non‐professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organiza on, distributed rate cards, or otherwise adver sed or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional handler.
Agility Trial Plan to a end the SHCA 25th Na onal Agility Trial to be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at CarDunAl Dog Training Club in Huntley Illinois, about 40 minutes from Peasant Run. The floor surface is foam mat (so please bring a mat to put under your crates). There is plenty of cra ng room.

Bronze Dog Statue e offered by the Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc., through the generosity of his friends at its Na onal Specialty Show. Permanent possession shall be awarded to the owner winning the award three (3) mes, not necessarily with the same dog. The trophy will remain in the possession of the SHCA un l permanently awarded. The names of the owner(s) and the win‐ ning dog will be engraved on the trophy annually. AGILITY HIGH IN TRIAL‐The Kachme‐Solocha‐Ye Agility Trophy. Offered by the Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc., through the generosity of members who value the great teamwork possible with our Siberian Huskies, at its Na onal Specialty Show. Parade of Titleholders There will be a non‐compe ve parade of AKC Champions of Record, Agility, Tracking, Obedience and Rally Titleholders of Record and SHCA Sled Dog Degree Titleholders. Each dog will receive a medallion with name engraved on back. Entry fee is $25.00. “PARADE” must be marked on the entry form as an addi onal class. Bring a brief bio of your dog’s accomplishments to be read while your dog is gaited around the ring.
Rescue Parade The SHCA supports and recognizes all those fantas c owners that have rescued a Siberian. We would like to encourage any and all who have rescued their Siberian to join us in the Parade of Rescued Siberians that is part of the SHCA Na onal Specialty. During the Parade, your dog is recognized as a rescue. They can be rescued from a rescue group, shelter friend or off the freeway. A brief bio is read (how you got your Siberian, something special about them) while you walk your dog, or a picture of your dog, around. Some Siberians can’t come because of distance, health etc.…. but we encourage that they be represented. You will receive a beau ful ribbon with your dog’s name on it, a gi bag and a big thank you. Judges’ Education The Na onal Specialty is a wonderful venue to educate judges and prospec ve judges of our Breed. This year, again, the Educa on Commi ee will be offering an extensive learning opportunity for judges and those ACTIVELY working toward becoming eligible to judge Siberian Huskies. A endees will be expected to devote all day Friday and at least part of Saturday (during Best of Breed judging), and should not have a dog entered in Breed. Upon request, there may be addi onal opportuni es for mentoring during Sweepstakes and Class judging. All checks or money orders must be payable to “SHCA” in US Funds and drawn on US banks. Re‐ turned checks or money orders do not cons tute payment for goods and/or services. All returned checks will be charged a $25.00 returned check fee. Repeated returned checks and/or failure to repay debts to SHCA, Inc. will result in being placed on “cash only” basis with the club. Any pay‐ ment received by SHCA for any purpose by an individual, group, or business with an outstanding debt to the club will first be applied to that debt. What this means, for example, is if your check for $15.00 novelty sales is returned, you will be assessed an addi onal $25.00 return check fee; and your resul ng debt will be $40.00. If you fail to pay this debt, but a empt to enter the Spe‐ cialty, and send a check for $58.00 for two entries, $40.00 from that entry check will first be used to pay off your debt, leaving $18.00 for the entries. In order for both of your entries to be accept‐ ed and processed, you will need to submit an addi onal $40.00.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4‐6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.
RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash‐only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.
No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb‐ ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.
No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.
Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administra‐ tive/processing fee per entry.
No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its ac‐ ceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligat‐ ed to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
The show giving club, the Event Secretary/Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children.
