The event has Championship Game undergone four expansions since then, with its mission remaining the same. Saturday, April 6, 3 p.m. ET LIVE and in HD on CBS Sports Network Following the inaugural year, the field doubled to 32 teams and remained that way until 2006 when a deeper commitment was made to schools.
