    FOR RELEASE: Thursday, February 24, 2011 – 10:00 a.m. MAYA MOORE OF UCONN, TORI HANSEN OF WEST LIBERTY HEADLINE CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL AMERICA® WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAMS TOWSON, Md. – Senior forward Maya Moore of the University of Connecticut and senior guard Tori Hansen of West Liberty University lead the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-America® women’s Basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Moore is a repeat selection as the Academic All-America® of the Year in the University Division while Hansen has been honored as the Academic All-America® of the Year in the College Division. An Individualized major with a 3.70 G.P.A., Moore is the first University Division women’s basketball player to repeat as Academic All-America® of the Year. Lindsey Dietz, ’06 of Minnesota Duluth was named as the College Division Academic All-America® of the Year in 2005 and 2006. For Moore, this is the third time that she has been named to the Academic All-America® Women’s Basketball University Division team. A repeat selection as a member of the first team, she was named to the second team as a sophomore. Named as the Most Outstanding Performer at the 2010 NCAA Division I Tournament, Moore was the winner of the Wade Trophy in 2009 and 2010 as the top women’s basketball player in the nation. A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., she was the first freshman to be named as the BIG EAST Player of the Year in 2008. A four-year starter who has led UConn to back-to-back undefeated national championships, Moore is the BIG EAST’s all-time scoring leader with 2,828 points in 144 career games.
