Dublin Executive Council Summary EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1. The Burrow is an area of the Portrane peninsula comprised mainly of open farm land, scattered housing, dunes and estuary foreshore defined to the north and west by the Rogerstown estuary, to the east by the Burrow beach and to the south by the urban area of Portrane village. 2. The Burrow beach is an extremely valuable resource to both residents and visitors for a number of reasons, including its aesthetic, environmental, recreational and community characteristics. In addition, the coastal waters of the Burrow Beach have achieved “Blue Flag” status in 2006. 3. Fingal County Council, with support from the Heritage Council, commissioned a consultative process with the objective of producing a beach management plan for The Burrow, in summer/autumn 2006.
