Sebastian Winter Abgabedatum: 22. November 2005 Page 1 Abstract: The project goal was to develop a dynamical visualization of the great amount of information that a todays auto produces. The format and the presentation of this information are very important and one of the most used tools that help the driver is the Comboview which is usually placed in front of him and displays speed, rpm, oil consumption etc. To improve the interaction between the driver and the car such a tool was developed and integrated into the car-simulator developed from the Department for Ergonomics's (DfE) at the TUM. Different Comboview templates can be created easily using some graphical editor that have support for the SVG format like Illustrator and thus allowing us to build quickly different user interfaces and explore which is better suited. The project goals were to create such templates, build a viewer that can load them and dynamically update the displayed information and also to deploy it as a service into the car-simulator. The viewer can be used either standalone or as a part of the DWARF system and is based on Batik SVG project.
