• Lloyd Price was drafted into the Army where he proudly served his country. He was placed on special duty during a Korean War Zone. He entertained 363,000 soldiers at hospitals, prisons, submarines and armed force bases during his 23.5 months of tour duty. • Lloyd Price launched KRC Record Company in 1957 with his partner Harold Logan. • March 3, 1957 his song ‘Just Because’ hit # 3 on the charts distributed by ABC-Paramount . The song ‘Just Because’ was re-recorded by John Lennon of the Beatles. • Lloyd Price became the first African-American to own a night club in Manhattan, The Turntable, located at 1674 Broadway in the heart of Manhattan (52nd & Broadway). Governor Nelson Rockefeller granted him a liquor license for his NYC night club. A Three Story Picture Sign of Lloyd Price was erected outside his club. • CBS band under the directions of the Ray Block Orchestra, rented Lloyd Price’s Turntable Club on Saturdays and Sundays to rehearse for The Ed Sullivan Shows. Lloyd Price appeared a few times on The Ed Sullivan Show during the fifties. • In the year 1984, Lloyd Price formed two Real Estate Companies. He developed middle class homes in , New York. Lloyd Price’s two corporations built a combined total of units to house 160 families • Lloyd Price’s early music influence and inspiration was the great Louis Jordan. • Lloyd Price was in such live show concert demand; he worked over 250 days a year. He performed an average of 30- 35 shows per week at the World Famous Apollo Theatre.

He was a good football player in his early days as a kid and became a good tennis player. • Lloyd Price is the first African-American in sports history to have two bowling balls manufactured with his two brand names. The Lloyd Price Personality Pin Buster Bowling Ball and the Lawdy Miss Clawdy Voodoo Momma Bowling Ball. Both balls were sanctioned by the USBC in March, 2009 and made their bowling debut in Las Vegas at the USBC Nationals. • In 1974, Lloyd Price and Don King became the first special event producers to transmit a sports satellite signal via the trans-Atlantic Ocean back into America. They co-produced (Ali vs. Foreman) in Zaire, Africa. The Championship event in association with their major music concert drew a historic attendance of 120,000 people. • In 1982, entertainment icon Mr. Frank Sinatra was quoted in a speech he gave at a San Diego, CA community college. When he was asked by Professor Greenberg who was the greatest entertainer besides himself, in his opinion, he replied, “Lloyd Price is the most complete entertainer I’ve ever known. I love my dear friend, Lloyd Price.” • Lloyd Price is the first African-American entertainment icon to sign a National Supplier’s Agreement with Wal-Mart, Inc. to sell his Lawdy Miss Clawdy Sweet Potato Cookies. • Lloyd Price Group of Companies has donated to 26 charities in the last five years to help 501-3C non-profit causes. • On November 21, 2007 Lloyd Price was featured in a front page story of The Wall Street Journal for his contribution to the sweet potato industry as a national producer of Lawdy Miss Clawdy sweet potato products. The Wall Street Journal referred to Lloyd Price as the new crusader for the sweet potato industry.

• Lloyd Price was the first African-American to be crowned The King of the Yambilee Festival at the 63rd annual Louisiana Yambilee Festival held on October 23, 2008 in Opelousas, Louisiana. More than 20,000 people came out to honor him at the Grand Louisiyam Parade. The Honorable Mayor Donald Cravins, Sr. awarded Lloyd Price the Key to the City. • Lloyd Price is currently developing an animated educational music television show, entitled, The Lawdy Miss Clawdy Personality Kids TV Show. He will co-produce the show with animation television icon producer Andy Heyward of A- Squared Entertainment, Inc. and Co-Producer Bill Waller. • Lloyd Price Icon Food Brands, Inc. is the first food company ever to manufacture, market, and distribute a branded Lawdy Miss Clawdy Sweet Potato Cookie and Cheesecake. • He is first African-American to create Lawdy Miss Clawdy ‘Make Momma Proud’ branded breakfast cereals paying special tribute to pioneers and trailblazers. • He is the first African-American to create, manufacture, and distribute his own Lloyd Price Icon Energy Bar. The Lloyd Price Tropical Banana Raisin and the Lloyd Price Sweet Strawberry. He is the first African-American icon to sell his branded Lawdy Miss Clawdy Personality Pizza Kit to Wal-Marts and 7-Eleven.

• Lloyd Price produced a film production of his ‘4- & ’ Stage Production starring , , Ben E. King, and Lloyd Price. The show was aired nationally on PBS-TV and helped to raise funds for public broadcast television. This show sold out 27 consecutive times, including at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas & Apollo in NYC

• On June 23, 2009, Lloyd Price Books, Inc. released its first title, ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy..The True King of the 50’s…The Lloyd Price Story’….written by Lloyd Price & Bill Waller • On August 18, 2010, Lloyd Price announced at a Press Conference in New Orleans that his book is being adapted into a Broadway Musical entitled ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy the Musical’ The Lloyd Price Story. The Stage Play will make its debut in New Orleans in 2011/ 2012. • In June, 2010 Lloyd Price began airing on National TV his Time-Life Infomercial ‘Pure Rhythm & Blues’. It is currently running nationwide daily and has been very successful. • In June, 2010, Lloyd Price made his acting debut on the highly acclaimed HBO series TREME filmed in New Orleans. • Lloyd Price’s timeless song, Personality is one the NFL Apparel Theme songs currently airing on all games during the 2010 NFL season. His song ‘Personality’ has been featured as a theme song for such, General Motors, Kraft Foods, , US Army, Fiat, Weight Watchers, Howard Johnson’s Hotels, the PGA and LPGA, and Pepsi Cola • Lloyd Price’s song ‘Stagger Lee’ is being developed by Disney as an animation. • October 22 & October 23, 2010 Lloyd Price goes back to his music roots and performs at the Harrah’s Theatre in New Orleans to a special audience of friends and family. • On November 12 thru 14, 2010, Lloyd Price will go to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame to pay a special tribute to his lifelong friends Dave Bartholomew and Fats Domino at their special tribute produced by the Cleveland based Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The Kenner Rivertown Lions Club is sponsoring the Lloyd Price Bronze Statue. The Lloyd Price Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation will assist young kids who want to further their careers in the entertainment industry and assist , musicians, producers, artists, and young executives with their careers.
