Tour of Day 1 USA to Scotland. Depart USA for overnight flight to Scotland. Dinner is served aloft. Friday August 15 Day 2 Glasgow. Morning arrival at Glasgow Airport where, after clearing Customs, we meet our Professional Scottish Saturday Driver Guide and Hammond Tours Staff. The history of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city is rich and diverse. In its August 16 1400 years Glasgow has been a religious community, a salmon fishing village, a medieval university town, a major centre of trade with North America and the second city of the British Empire, famed for its shipbuilding and engineering. We enjoy a panoramic tour of this town. Dinner and overnight Bothwell Bridge Hotel (not city center) Day 3 World Pipe Band Championship. After breakfast we spend the day ta the Pipe Band Championship. The biggest Sunday event in any piping fan's calendar is certainly the annual World Pipe Band Championships, affectionately known as August 17 The Worlds. The event, delivered by Glasgow Life in association with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, has had a long association with Glasgow, and for many years has been bringing top flight international piping competition and a wonderfully entertaining event to the city. Dinner and overnight Bothwell Bridge Hotel. Day 4 Glasgow-Lochness. This morning you will depart for the Highlands first travelling up the west bank of Loch Monday Lomond, you will see some spectacular views of the Loch and get the chance to stop for photographs. Continue north August 18 through Crianlarich and across Rannoch Moor to the most scenically beautiful of all Highland glens, Glencoe. Travel over the Ballachulish bridge and on to Fort William, passing Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. We enjoy a 1 hour Lochness Cruise. On the cruise we pass the historic ruins of Urquhart Castle where you will get the best photographs of the castle along with a comprehensive commentary on the history of the castle. Dinner and overnight Lochness Lodge Hotel. Day 5 Skye. Full day Skye Excursion. We visit Dunvegan Castle and the island’s main town of Portree and pass the Tuesday spectacular Cuillin Hills of Skye. Return to Lochness. Dinner and overnight Lochness Lodge Hotel. August 19 Day 6 Lochness-. A leisurely start this morning will take you south through the mountains of the Cairngorms Wednesday National Park. Your route takes you over the Drumochter Pass (1500ft above sea level). Travel through the August 20 Highland resort town of Pitlochry, built on Victorian tourism. Continue south towards Perth to Scone the crowning place of Scottish Kings, now the cherished family home of the Earl of Mansfield. In the extensive grounds of there is a replica of the Stone of Destiny and the chapel on Moot Hill where the coronations took place. Dinner and overnight Brooks Hotel. Day 7 Edinburgh. Today we suggest taking a ½ day sightseeing tour of Edinburgh. Learn all about the history of Thursday Edinburgh including the Scottish , , House, , St. Giles August 21 Cathedral, , the Museum of Scotland, Royal Museum, , Victoria Street Shopping, Gardens, the and more.
