A947 WHITERASHES – PROPOSED 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT

“The Council (Whiterashes) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order, 2016” is being proposed under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

The effect of the order will be to introduce a 40 mph speed limit on the A947 at Whiterashes and revoke the current 50 mph speed limit on the same stretch of road as detailed below:

A947 – TO BANFF ROAD AT WHITERASHES From a point 130 metres southeast of its junction with the B993 to Whiterashes road northwestwards for a distance of 400 metres

This will mean that the current 50 mph speed limit on the aforementioned length of road will become a 40 mph speed limit.

THE ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL (WHITERASHES) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER, 2016

Aberdeenshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Constable in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following order:-

1. This order may be cited as “The Aberdeenshire Council (Whiterashes) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order, 2016”, and shall come into operation on ….

2. No person shall drive, or cause or permit to be driven, any vehicle on the length of road specified in Schedule One to this order at a speed exceeding 40 mph.

3. The 50 mph speed limit specified in Schedule Two to this order shall hereby be revoked upon the coming into effect of this order.

THE ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL (WHITERASHES) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER, 2016

Proposed reduction in speed limit from 50mph to 40mph in Whiterashes on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road.

Aberdeenshire Council proposes to reduce the existing 50mph speed limit in Whiterashes to 40mph to reflect the existing speeds, nature of the road and the character of the village.

The reduced speed limit will have the terminal points on the existing limits.

The proposed reduction in the speed limit will enhance safety in the village.
