Class 4 vs Class 1 Class 4 near Conway

Class 4 landfills accept only limited types of wastes, unlike Class 1 facilities that may accept all types of solid, non‐hazardous wastes.

Class 4 landfills can accept only inert, non‐putrescible wastes that degrade very slowly or do not degrade. So placed in a Class 4 facility must exhibit minimal or reduced potential for the release of contaminants into the ground or surface waters. Facilities should separate their wastes for disposal at the source before sending the waste to Class 1, 4, or other landfills.
