  • Four Direct Routes to Winning Grand National Bets…
www.againstthecrowd.co.uk Four direct routes to winning Grand National bets…. (Race to be run Saturday April 8th 2017) Beat the bookies in the biggest race of all…. There is no bigger race than the Grand National. It is impossible to be British and NOT know what the Grand National is. People all over the world are aware of the race. It’s the most valuable jumps race in Europe. Last year the prize money handed out to connections of the winner and the horses that finished directly behind him amounted to more than a million pounds. On Saturday 8th April when this year’s field goes to post at Aintree, people all over the planet will be tuning in to enjoy the spectacle on television…. The race is unique. A field of 40-horses slug it out over 30 fences and a four-and-a-half mile-trip. The names of the fences resonate like characters out of some old story enjoyed as a child. Bechers, Canal Turn, Valentines Brook, the Chair…. The Grand National fences are idiosyncratic. Much-different to ordinary park racecourse fences and instantly recognisable. They have lost some of the terror of yesteryear – but they still present the ultimate test of both horse and jockey. There is no race quite like the Grand National. The horse that wins must possess a bit of everything. A bit of speed, the ability to jump, bravery, the capacity to remain calm under pressure and, at the death, he must possess stamina – and plenty of it. After jumping massive fences for 4-miles at speed, the winner must dig deep and find the reserves to get up the straight, past the elbow and over the line with the rest still toiling behind him.

American amateur Charlie Fenwick partners 40/1 chance Ben Nevis to 1980 victory. It is the second of three Grand National victories for trainer Tim Forster. • Aintree Racecourse
Aintree Racecourse Best Event Red Rum 40 at the Randox Health Grand National Festival 2017 Proudly partnered by Objectives • Celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the Grand National’s most iconic horse, Red Rum winning for the third and final time in the legendary race that stops the nation. • Engage, educate and excite the wide spectrum of racegoer that will be present during the three day Festival and immerse them in all things Red Rum. • Drive footfall to the Red Rum Garden and surrounding area from all parts of the racecourse, assisted by the re-naming of ‘Tattersalls’ to the ‘Festival Zone’, with Marketing efforts centred on customers exploring different areas of the site and making the most of their day. Research from previous Grand Nationals suggested that racegoers were not making use of the full site and it’s facilities, meaning the experience and subsequent opportunity for retention was hindered. • The story of Red Rum is broad and engaging – it resonates with all customer profiles, as there is something special for everyone. We wanted to pull this together to sit under one compelling theme, creating an event within the Grand National Festival that is both fun, unique and also memorable. • Present the unique story of Red Rum in a fun and modern way to engage with a younger audience whilst also retaining the traditional feel to appeal to the more seasoned racegoer, creating an emotive connection for both audiences. 2 Delivery • Creation of ‘Stable 46’ exhibition at the 2017 Grand National Festival, containing memorabilia and legendary artifacts from Red Rum’s history.

  • Cheltenham Festival Guide
Grand National Guide 2017 Lap of The Odds Daniel Watkins Grand National Guide 2017 In Summary So, it’s still over 340 days til the next Cheltenham festival. I can’t spend all of that time pondering the likely make-up of the 2018 Champion Hurdle. Thankfully the racing calendar is the gift that keeps on giving, and here comes the blessing/curse for all tipsters, the Aintree Grand National. If you wanted to pick a race on which to be annually judged by the casual punter you might not pick a 40 runner cavalry charge over the biggest fences in racing. That said, despite the inherent elements of randomness, it is actually a decent betting opportunity. Remember to follow all our daily tips, for Aintree, racing, golf, football and all sports at Lap Of The Odds, at our website, Twitter and Facebook. Please note, that to allow for excitement to build, we compile and distribute this guide prior to the final field being declared. Historically the top 40 in the race are likely to hold their ground, but it is possible that a couple may withdraw. We have included assessments of those horses that might make the field who currently aren’t in, but if there are any changes then be sure to note the names of the horses below (which won’t change) and not the racecard numbers (which might). OK, so a select few readers might like to pile through the extended write-up that follows – but most will just want to know the answer. So here goes for a 1-2-3-4 for the 2017 Grand National: 1st: Thunder and Roses 40/1 2nd: Vieux Lion Rouge 11/1 3rd: Blaklion 12/1 4th: The Last Samuri 16/1 If you’d like to know why, then read on… Daniel Watkins www.lapoftheodds.com Twitter Facebook Page 2 Grand National Guide 2017 The Race Four and a half miles, 30 huge fences and 40 runners – there is no race quite like the Aintree Grand National.
