Government Defeat in Lords on United Kingdom Internal Market Bill Monday 09/11/2020 On 09/11/2020 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the United Kingdom Internal Market Bill: To remove clauses 44, 45, 46 and 47 of the Bill which provide ministers with powers to disapply obligations under the Northern Ireland protocol notwithstanding any relevant domestic or international law to the contrary. This was defeat number 46 in the parliamentary session.
