Request for Quotation for Passenger Transport Bus Service Temporary changes to bus services in the Malmesbury area Updated from 6 April 2020 We regret that due to a shortage of bus drivers and a major reduction in passenger numbers due to Coronavirus restrictions, it will be necessary to introduce further temporary timetables on weekdays on the following Coachstyle services in the Malmesbury area with effect from 6 April 2020. Malmesbury local service 30 – This route will now only run once per hour until 1430 (2.30pm) – see please timetable overleaf. Service 37 - The Wednesday shoppers bus to Bath has been temporarily suspended until travel restrictions are lifted. Service 41 - Buses will run to normal timings until 1600 (4.00pm). After 4pm buses will only run from Malmesbury to Sherston, Luckington and Acton Turville and will not serve Yate – please see timetable in this leaflet. Service 92 - On weekdays, service 92 will run to a Saturday timetable, but with an extra bus from Chippenham at 0815. This means that the last bus from Malmesbury will be at 1710 (5.10pm) and the last bus from Chippenham Will be at 1805 (6.05pm). Please also note that the bus that normally departs from Chippenham at 0905 will now depart at 0910 and will not call at Kington St. Michael. Service 93 - As very few people are currently using services 93 and 93A, buses on this route will run to a special reduced timetable as shown overleaf. The full temporary timetable for bus services in the Malmesbury area can be downloaded from the Coachstyle website at www.coachstyle.uk . These timetables require the use of fewer drivers so are expected to remain in force for several weeks. However it may be necessary to reduce services further if fewer drivers become available or additional movement restrictions are introduced by the Government. We hope that these changes do not cause you too much inconvenience and if you require further details of them, please contact Coachstyle on 01249 782224 or email Wiltshire Council’s Transport Unit at [email protected] . • A History of Alderton Manor, Once Owned by the Montagus of Lackham
The Manor of Alderton in Wiltshire : Its owners and some historical connections by Tony Pratt 3rd edition 2013 (this online edition last updated February 13) The Manor of Alderton 3rd edition Acknowledgements I must express my very sincere thanks to the great number of people who have been so helpful and generous with their time: Gina Douglas, Librarian & Archivist to the Linnaean Society Dr. Kate Harris, Librarian & Archivist to the Marquis of Bath Dr. Lorna Haycock, lately Sandwell Librarian and Archivist at WANHS (join them today) Mr. James, Librarian at the Society of Antiquaries June, the Countess Badeni Dr. Peter Sherlock Mike Stone, lately Manager & Curator, Chippenham Heritage Centre & Museum Stella Vain and the Library staff at Wiltshire College, Lackham Keith Woodman Ron Cleevely And the Librarians and Archivists at Chippenham Library The National Art Library, Victoria & Albert Museum, London The British Library, London Wiltshire County Record Office and Local History Library, Trowbridge Thanks to you all. Finally I must thank my partner Lynne Thomson for her support, help and understanding, and for uncomplainingly listening to far too many cases of “guess what I’ve just found”! It must get tedious. The Family Trees were initially produced using WinGenea v1.7, an effective and, above all, simple shareware program . Tony Pratt, Chippenham, 2002 2 The Manor of Alderton 3rd edition As always allows further and more detailed research, and new material becomes available; for example in 2010 a large number of documents relating to Alderton in the late medieval period came up for auction and the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre was able to buy a number of them and acquire copies of others.
