For ease of reference, your request is replicated below together with the response. You would like statistics for crimes taken place in your area, your road, and nearby. You would then like to set up a petition to install CCTV cameras on your road Torsonce Road, and Newbattle Road. It will also give you the idea of the area since you moved in, in October 2020. Clarification from you I would like the full data on the Dalkeith area in the last 3 years to date and my immediate vicinity as well the same please. I am not sure what BEAT area statistics are? and I would like the most comprehensive data on theft and other related crimes. We can provide you with the following statistics for the BEAT ME01 area. This area covers Torsonce Road, and Newbattle Road, and included in the area is from the A7 to the West to Newbattle Road in the East, and covers the Eskbank area bordering the Esk River to the North, and Newtongrange Football Ground to the south. All statistics are provisional and should be treated as management information. All data have been extracted from Police Scotland internal systems and are correct as at 30/12/2020. You request for full data on the Dalkeith area in the last 3 years to date we are unable to provide you with as this request would need to be more specific. To give more accurate measurement we would require a Police BEAT area such as the one specified above, a postcode, or a council area, to map the request against. We are therefore not refusing your request however if you provide us with a more specific area as the examples given, we can process this as a separate request in the future.
