Cotes L'brgh Bus Service Outline MM Transport Planning for Phil Jones Associates Cotes, near Loughborough: proposed residential neighbourhood and employment development Questionnaire for Trent Barton / Kinchbus regarding outline bus service proposal Version: 0'5 Date: 14-Aug-13 By: TKHomer Date Questionnaire Issued: 16 Aug' 2013 Completed by: Keith Shayshutt Date Questionnaire Completed: 16/08/2013 Role / Position: Head of Development 1. Information about the proposed Cotes Residential Neighbourhood and Employment Development This questionnaire relates to the proposed development of a new residential neighbourhood at Cotes in Leicestershire, east of Loughborough; see diagram ' EMS.2299_10-9B - Draft Detailed Masterplan (25-7-13).pdf '. This development would provide 975 new dwellings, varying in type and tenure for a population of roundly 2,340 residents, and office, industrial and warehousing providing around 1,000 jobs. Development would take place in three phases, with the rate of development determined by housing market conditions; see phasing diagram and table inb ' EMS.2299 Phasing Plan 01.03.13.pdf '. A local centre and a primary school would be provided in Phase 3; offices, industry and warehousing employment in Phase 4. The questions below are about the development location and the outline bus service that is proposed to serve the development. NB : In accordance with the planning submission being for outline consent only at this stage, the focus of interest is in the potential for an operationally feasible and financially sustainable bus service. A full operational and business case would be developed at a subsequent stage in the planning of the proposed neighbourhood, and we would seek to involve Trent Barton / Kinchbus in this process. The outline bus service proposal is that set out in diagram ' Cotes Bus Service Routeing - 2013-10-14.pdf ' and note ' Cotes Bus Service Proposal - 2013-10-14 v0'2.pdf '. This proposal does not preclude the development and selection of other service options, which might deliver a superior performance, during the detail planning stage for this proposed development. • What Is Integrated Ticketing?
Integrated Ticketing Strategy and Delivery Plan INDEX • Executive summary • Background • Current position of Ticketing In Nottinghamshire • Scheme Design, Timeline, Promotion and Governance • Consultation What is Integrated Ticketing? Multi-operator integrated ticketing is an important aspect of realising the County Council’s vision for a better bus service. It makes using buses more convenient, reliable and flexible for passengers, allowing them to use services from a range of operators. Executive Summary The bus network is important as a means to providing accessibility and transport choice to the community, delivering benefits to society including accessibility, transport choice, congestion management, CO2 reductions and helps to stimulate economic growth. The 1985 Transport Act set the scene for the deregulation of the bus industry, and therefore it is essential that bus operations are well integrated and affordable. This Strategy sets out the importance of integrated ticketing to passengers to help sustain a strong and vibrant commercial network. It explains how we move forward towards transport integration in the context of the Nottinghamshire County Council Strategic Plan (2014-2018) 1, Local Transport Plan (up to 2026) 2 and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) 3 priorities. This will include the legal framework, government policy and guidance and outlines from 2014-2026 Nottinghamshire County Council’s vision for Integrated Ticketing. This document sets out how Integrated Ticketing will be delivered once scheme design, price, partnership arrangements and funding is secured, with an ambitious timeline for implementation. Background The use of public transport is important to tackle congestion, rising CO2 levels and improving access to employment, training, health, leisure and shopping opportunities.
