The Role: Redfaire, has an immediate need for a Junior Java Developer to join our expanding team. This is a full-time role based in our Shared Service Centre in Limerick, Ireland or operating remotely from home as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work closely with our Product Development and Technical Delivery teams while supporting product implementation and delivery activities. The primary role will be the development in and technical extension of Oracle ERP Applications (JD Edwards) leveraging Java, JavaScript and REST API integration for product specific extension requirements.
Key focus areas of this role include: • Work as part of the technical team to design, build and test product version release enhancements. • Design and develop new product functionality using a combination of Java, JavaScript, and RESTful API’s • Experience with an ERP application such as JD Edwards would be added benefit • Create new functionalities, programs, applications as well as support existing enhancements within the Oracle JD Edwards platform using the development tool set • Design, build and support integrations and enhancements using web services, REST API’s and other appropriate tools. • Review functional specifications and develop supporting technical design documents • Work with modern application development practices • Work directly on application/technical problems, identification, and resolution
Candidate Skillset/Experience:
Technical: • Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science or related field • Minimum 1+ years’ experience in several of the following: Java, RESTful APIs, JavaScript • Knowledge and understanding of microservices architecture and principles. • Technical requirements: • Java core skills • Developing REST API using Java • Developing frontend web application using JavaScript (preferable Oracle JET toolkit) • JDeveloper as a development tool • Experience producing technical specifications • Hands-on with development & unit testing of integration components & web services (SOAP/REST). • Experience in web-based applications with webserver technologies (eg Glassfish, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, IIS etc). • Knowledge of SQL including MySQL • Knowledge of version control tools like Git and SVN
Soft Skills: • Candidates should have excellent verbal & written communication skills in addition to a third level qualification in information technology, computer science, computer software/computer systems • Studies and/or experience should have equipped candidates with a knowledge of a mainstream programming language such as Java and JavaScript • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies • Candidates will have knowledge of the full software development life cycle and a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design. • You will have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
