Meet Our Governing Body 2019-2020 Meet our Governing Body 2019-2020 Samantha Barber Chair of Governors I joined the Governing Body as a Foundation Governor in Autumn 2017. As a family we have been attending All Saints Church for over a year and my husband helps to run the thriving Sunday School. Our daughter started in Reception at All Saints in September 2017. I work as a Health Visitor in Wellingborough and am passionate about early years, school readiness and the transition to school. I am experienced in safeguarding children and strongly believe that every child deserves the best start in life. I am keen to support the school in upholding the vision to promote successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Walter Townsend Vice Chair of Governors I'm a foundation Governor and joined the Board in Spring 2016. I have attended All Saints Church since Easter 2003 and my daughter started school in September 2015. I have lived in Wellingborough since 2000 after relocating from Northampton to start work at Siemens. I currently work for Snap-on Tools in IT and software. I am a member of the Chartered Management Institute and also a qualified broadcast journalist. My academic interests include literacy, IT and modern foreign languages. My main aim on joining the board is to become a critical friend to the school by assisting the leadership team to achieve the targets it sets itself. Emma Johnson Head Teacher I am the Head Teacher at All Saints Primary and a member of the Governing Body. I have been involved in Education for 27 years, working across a range of schools within Northamptonshire and more recently as the Head Teacher at Bozeat Primary School. I am passionate about education and ensuring that we provide children with a range of experiences which enhances their learning. Governing Body 2019-2020 Martin Hunter Staff Governor My name is Martin Hunter and I am a Staff Governor at All Saints, I have been a staff member at All Saints school since 2015 working in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I was elected by the staff onto the board in March 2018. Through working in schools in Northamptonshire I have gained a range of experience and will be able to use these as we plan strategically for the future of the All Saints CEVA Primary School & Nursery community. Claire Le Maistre Foundation Governor I joined the governing body as a parent governor in Autumn 2017. I was baptised and confirmed at All Saints Church and have been part of the church community since childhood, including being a Brownie leader and running mums and tots (messy/sensory play sessions). My siblings and I attended All Saints school and I am now a mum to 3 children, the youngest started school in September 2017. I was previously a staff nurse, specialising in the care of the older person and protection of vulnerable adults. More recently I gained my NVQ 3 in childcare and now currently work part-time in a patchwork shop. I'm a committee member of two local charities, 'High Five' - supporting parents of children with high functioning autism and SHINE group, Northamptonshires deaf children's society, I would like to support the school to provide children with a range of experiences to enrich and develop their education and promote lifelong skills. Robert Townson Foundation Governor I am returning back to my roots at All Saints. In 1947 I started school at All Saints Infant School in Winstanley Road, then moved onto All Saints School in Castle Street. I moved onto Westfield Boys School where I became Chair of Governors as I was serving as a County Councillor. I worked as a metallurgist at Morris Motors later British Leyland on closure moved onto the automotive industry where I worked as a Production Manager, Quality Manager and Project Manager. I have taken a Diploma in Management Studies, so can use my expertise from business into my position as a School Governor. My voluntary work has been as follows: The Scout Movement still a member with 53 years service. Borough Councillor 7 years. County Councillor 4 years. Magistrate on Wellingborough Bench 25 years. Church Warden at All Saints Church in 2017. School Governor 15 years on the following schools: Westfield Boys School. Victoria Infant & Junior Schools when in Stanley Road. Avenue Infant School. Park Junior School. Cranford Church of England School became Chair of Governors for 12 months and received outstanding with Ofsted in 2016. Now with All Saints where I hope to be able to pass on my experience. Nominated as a Race to the Top Governor by Count Education Department in 2014 to assist schools under concern. Governing Body 2019-2020 Kate Peel Parent Governor I am a Parent Governor at All Saints and was appointed in the Autumn term 2017. I have two children at the school and live within the All Saints catchment area. I am local to the area and have lived within the borough for over 30 years. As well as my interest as a parent, I also bring to the governing body 16 years of educational experience working as a teacher in Wellingborough, Kettering and in East Northants. I look forward to taking this opportunity as a Parent Governor to be a part of the school journey and hope to make a valuable input into the Governing body. Pat Thomas Foundation Governor I have been a Foundation Governor since 2011 and a member of All Saints Church since 1980. I am a Lay Pastoral Minister and a Sunday school leader at All Saints Church. My children are now grown up and I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. I work full time at Booker cash and carry Headquarters in Wellingborough. I believe that all children should be encouraged to value themselves and others. I fully uphold and support the ethos of our school, its beliefs and values. Ian Barrett Foundation Governor I became a Foundation Governor in June 2019. I attended Victoria Infants and Junior Schools, before going to Wellingborough Grammar School for 4 years before it became Wrenn School. I am married and have lived in Wellingborough all my life. My Parents first took me to All Saint's Church in 1964 and I sang in the Choir for many years. I worked for The NFU Mutual Insurance Society for 37 years in both the Underwriting and Technical Claims departments and during my time there I was a qualified First Aider and was responsible for Health and Safety. Currently working as an Examination Invigilator at Moulton School and at Wellingborough School where I also volunteer for the Combined Cadet Force as a Sub Lieutenant in The Royal Navy. In addition, I sit on the panel and am an active member of the Patient's Participation Group at Albany House Medical Centre.Within All Saints' Church I undertake various duties, including being a member of The Parochial Church Council, Health and Safety Officer and Deputy Warden.     Cognita School QHS Newsletter Autumn Term 2016 Dear Parents Contents: Recently I asked one of my colleagues, what was their reason for staying in teaching for so many years. Their reply was that they loved doing a job where no two days were the same, where you never knew exactly what was going to happen. I’m not sure if that is why I have stayed in education for so long but there is no denying the variety of my job as Headteacher. The run up to the Christmas holidays has included handing out Year 11 Mock examination results, taking part in a Christingle Service with Reception, Q1 and Q2, handing out raffle p1. In the past 80 years Marriotts have established a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship on the largest and small­ est scales. Whether it is a £7,000,000 housing contract near Bletchley, a new head­ quarters for Buckinghamshire County Council at Aylesbury (right) or restor­ ation and alterations to Easton Maudit Church (left) Marriotts have the experi­ ence, the expertise and the men to carry out work of the most exacting standards and to a strict schedule. In the last century Marriotts made a name for itself by the skill of its crafts­ men employed on restoring buildings of great historical importance. A re­ markable tribute to the firm's founder, the late Mr. Robert Marriott was paid in 1948 by Sir Albert Richardson, later President of the Royal Academy, when he said: "He was a master builder of the calibre of the Grimbolds and other famous country men. He spared no pains and placed ultimate good before financial gain. No mean craftsman him­ self, he demanded similar excellence from his helpers." Three-quarters of a century later Marriotts' highly specialised Special Projects Division displays the same inherent skills in the same delicate work on buildings throughout the Midlands. To date Hatfield House, Long Melford Hall in Suffolk, the Branch Library at Earls Barton, the restoration of Castle Cottage at Higham Ferrers, Fisons Ltd., Cambridge, Greens Norton School, Woburn Abbey restorations and the Falcon Inn, Castle Ashby, all bear witness to the craftsmanship of Marriotts.

The School moved to its current site in 1881 to support its growth, but leaving the town centre did not reduce the importance it places on its links with the local community. Our pupils and staff lead and support a number of initiatives, engaging with other schools, businesses and charities in Wellingborough and the surrounding area. Girls were first taught here nearly 50 years ago, and the School became fully co- educational in 1979. Girls now make up more than 40% of the pupil body. We welcomed pupils below the age of 8 for the first time in 1990 with the introduction of a Pre-Prep in a purpose-built facility, just a few years before converting to a day school at the turn of the century. Each of these changes has strengthened the School’s ability to maintain its appeal to a diverse range of pupils, a feature which is part of its core and attracts families from across five counties. Academic achievement is important but we focus on adding value and look to accept every child who we believe will be happy in our environment. We are extremely proud of our pastoral care, and believe that we are far ahead of most schools with regard to pupil welfare.
