Ashbrook Rosé 2020 35 Margaret River, WA This wine has an attractive salmon pink colour from whole bunch pressed 100% Shiraz. The nose sings of wild strawberry with hints of lychee and the palate echoes the nose with strawberr y and raspberry notes. Pemberley Pinot Noir 2018 45 Pemberton, WA The grapes for this wine were grown on Pemberton deep red karri loams so well known for expressing fine flavours.The 2018 vintage provided intense fruit flavours showing wild strawberries and forest floor characters, with firm but soft tannins.

Grosset Pinot Noir 2018 90 Adelaide Hills, SA Matured in French oak, it is beguiling, intense and delicious and has marvellous concentration, delightful mouth-feel with mulberry and red currant flavours that linger. The finish is crisp and fine, pure and long and enhanced by bright natural acidity and soft, silky tannins.

Crittenden Estate ‘Cri de Coeur’ Pinot Noir 2018 95 Mornington Peninsula, VIC Spicy and herbal on the nose, time in the glass allows for the layers of vibrant fruit to emerge. The eventual marriage of these two characters becomes seamless, with amazingly fine tannins on the palate providing length and breadth to this elegant wine.

Valli Gibbston Pinot Noir 2017 95 Central Otago, NZ A classic Pinot fragrance of violets and rose petals accentuated by bright red fruits and garrigue spices. Savoury undertones of earthy loam and cedar add to the intensity of the finish. Chapoutier Bila Haut Grenache Carignan 2017 30 Cotes de Roussillion, France A blend of typical mediterranean red varieties - syrah, grenache and carignan. This is a moreish, fleshy and well structured wine, the flavours exotic: black cherry, raspberry, dried cranberry with brooding intensity. Pair with beef and mediterranean style dishes.

Wirra Wirra Church Block Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot 2018 35 McLaren Vale, SA The palate is rich and generous with plush dark fruits balanced by fine savoury tannins and cedary oak. Smooth and very drinkable with any meal.

Penfolds Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz 2017 65 Barossa Valley, SA Ripe, balanced fruit flavours are supported by softly integrated oak resulting in a silky, smooth red wine. Bin 8 was given its number because it uses older oak previously used for Bin 128, Bin 28 and Bin 389 – with ‘8’ obviously providing the common thread.

Guigal Gigondas Grenache Mourvedre Shiraz 2015 100 Gigondas, Rhône Valley, France An attractive nose of cinnamon, liquorice and wild herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced with a spicy savoury mid-palate and clean finish.

Teusner ‘Big Jim’ Shiraz 2018 80 Barossa Valley, SA This wine has a dark core, with the fruit from Williamstown providing elegance, fragrance and spice. There is plenty of blackberry, black satsuma plum, black cherry and cassis with great intensity and length.

Henschke Henry’s Seven Shiraz, Grenache, Viognier, Mataro 2017 90 Adelaide Hills, SA The shiraz, grenache, mataro, viognier blend is a tribute to Henry Evans who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853. He quickly developed a reputation for producing the best wines in the southern colony. Shiraz and Viognier are co-fermented whilst Grenache and Mataro are fermented separately. The beautifully structured palate has savoury nuances that show ripe black fruits and spice with fine tannins and a long finish.

Alkoomi Blackbutt 2011 95 Frankland River, WA The Blackbutt is a fine tuned blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Malbec (15%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Merlot (1%) from the oldest blocks of estate grown fruit. Complex flavours of cassis layered with earthy forest floor notes with a vibrant line of acidity that carries the dusty, fine grained tannin structure to an even, balanced finish.
