CAROL LOVIN Executive Vice President, Chief Integration O cer & System Chief of Sta , Atrium Health and Chairman, CLT Alliance

Carol A. Lovin, MHSA, MN, is executive vice president, chief integration o cer and system chief of sta for Atrium Health, one of the most comprehensive and highly integrated not-for-profi t healthcare systems in the nation. As a member of the executive leadership team, she leads both external and internal integration, working to accelerate value for the system’s patients and communities as Atrium Health continues to form new partnerships and to optimize connections and e ciencies across the organization. Lovin also co-leads new partnership development work with the Chief Financial O cer and is responsible for coordinating the work of the administrative team and the Atrium Health Board of Commissioners and Board of Advisors.

With more than 30 years of experience advancing healthcare strategy and business development, communications and marketing and operational execution, Lovin joined the organization in July 2007 when NorthEast Medical became a part of Atrium Health. Previously, she served as Atrium Health’s executive vice president and chief strategy o cer, overseeing strategy, business development, innovation, corporate communications, marketing, external a airs and community engagement. Additional leadership positions held throughout her career include serving as president of the Carolinas HealthCare System Management Company, during which she led the launch of the innovation group and an advanced analytics group, and leading strategic planning, marketing and business development at NorthEast Medical Center.

Deeply invested in the community, Lovin was one of 10 Charlotte business leaders who led the combination of the Charlotte Chamber and Charlotte Regional Partnership to form the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. She currently serves as the Alliance’s Chair and also serves on the boards of Charlotte Center City Partners and the World A airs Council of Charlotte. Additionally, Lovin is Chairman of the board for MedCost, a benefi ts solutions company owned in part by Atrium Health.

Lovin recently received the Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2018, was named Charlotte Business Woman of the Year by Queens University. Among others, recent recognitions also include being named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know” and “Hospital and Health System Chief Strategy O cers to Know.”

TOM BARKIN President & CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

Tom Barkin is the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where he is responsible for monetary policy, bank supervision, payment services and the Fed’s National IT organization. He has held this position since 2018.

Tom serves as a voting member in 2021 on the Fed’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee. He is “on the ground” continually in the Fed’s Fifth District, which covers South Carolina, North Carolina, , D.C., West Virginia and Maryland. His engagement in the region has brought real attention to areas facing economic challenges.

Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, Tom was a senior partner and CFO at McKinsey & Company, a worldwide management consulting fi rm, where he also oversaw McKinsey’s o ces in the . He served on the board of directors of the Atlanta Fed from 2009 to 2014 and was the board’s chairman from 2013 to 2014.

Tom earned his bachelor’s, MBA and law degrees from Harvard University.

LAURA ULLRICH Regional Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

Laura Ullrich is a regional economist at the Charlotte branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Previously, Ullrich was associate dean for undergraduate programs and a professor of economics at Winthrop University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia and a master’s and doctorate in economics from the University of Tennessee. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a business consultant for Ernst & Young, specializing in executive compensation determination. In 2014, she served as a Fulbright Scholar teaching economics in Kosovo and has spent considerable time working on local economic development issues in Bolivia.

Ullrich’s research interests include higher education, school fi nance reform, local and state level tax and expenditure analyses, welfare policy, and the economic impact of local development. She is an active member of her community, currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. She also serves on the board of Family Promise of York County, the Rock Hill Technology Incubator, the Carolina Immigrant Alliance and the Winthrop Eagle Club. HUNTER SHULL Senior Vice President, Market Executive, Wells Fargo Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

Hunter Shull is a senior vice president and market executive for commercial banking operations in Greater Charlotte. He oversees a team of banking professionals who provide loan, treasury management, deposits, and other Wells Fargo products and services to companies with annual revenue between $5 million and $2 billion.

Hunter began his career in 1996 with First Union National Bank of North Carolina, a Wells Fargo predecessor bank. He fi rst worked in Commercial Underwriting and then the Real Estate Group as a portfolio manager. In 2000, he joined the Charlotte, North Carolina-based Capital Strategies Group, where he provided corporate advisory services to middle-market companies across various industry groups. He joined the Maryland Commercial Banking team as a relationship manager and became the director of Maryland Commercial banking in 2005. He later went on to become the Baltimore market leader in 2008. In 2009, he was named the regional vice president of middle-market banking for the combined teams of Wells Fargo and Wachovia. He moved back to Charlotte in 2013 to lead the regional o ce of the Global Advisory Specialty Division. In this capacity, he oversaw a team that provided international credit support to the Regional Commercial Banking O ces. Hunter is a graduate of Wo ord College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with a B.A. in fi nance.

Hunter currently serves on the board of directors and the executive committee for both The First Tee of Greater Charlotte and the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. He previously served on the boards of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, The First Tee of Baltimore, the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. He has also volunteered for various community organizations.

MICHAELINA ANTAHADES Venue Sales Manager, Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority Chair, Young Professionals Board, Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

Michaelina Antahades has served as Venue Sales Manager for the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority since 2013. She currently represents the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Charlotte Convention Center, and Bojangles Entertainment Complex.

Prior to her work at CRVA, she worked at FABRIX, inc. as an Account Manager. At FABRIX, she worked closely with the graphics department to deliver on client requests and performed on-site graphics management during events, educated clients on EXPLORING ECONOMIES 2021 SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES and managed FAB recycle program, and represented FABRIX by attending organization a liation meetings and events. She has maintained a lasting relationship with the NASCAR Hall of Fame as she originally worked for their organization as an Operations Floor Supervisor & Crew Member in 2012. She has also served as an Event Manager at the Catawba River District. In this role, she was responsible for organizing overall event planning, event development, and on-site management of events which fostered the non-profi t’s mission of creating a sustainable community.

Michaelina holds three degrees from : A Bachelor of Arts in Communication, a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Master of Science in Sustainable Tourism. She is the current Chair of CLT Alliance’s Young Professionals Board and President of the Charlotte Chapter of the International Live Event Association.

She is the youth group advisor for her church’s middle and high school age kids. In a nonpandemic world, Michaelina is an avid traveler, and she loves to cook and entertain.

WADE COOPER Board Chair, Capital Metro Board - Austin Public Transit & Managing Partner, Jackson Walker Law Firm

Wade Cooper is the Managing Partner of Jackson Walker. He chairs the Management Committee and the Compensation Committee of the fi rm, and has held this position since 2010.

Wade handles substantial commercial litigation, arbitration, and bankruptcy matters in Texas, and across the country. His clients include data center REIT’s, oil and gas companies, telecommunications carriers, national banks, and technology companies.

He began his practice with Jackson Walker in the Dallas o ce in 1981. In 1997, he moved to Austin to establish a new o ce for Jackson Walker.

In addition to his legal experience and law fi rm leadership responsibilities, Wade has had extensive civic involvement in the Austin area. He currently chairs the regional transportation authority and previously chaired the downtown property improvement district. He has been asked to participate on numerous boards and panels dedicated to regional planning and transportation issues in the rapidly developing Austin area. He also has had extensive involvement in the Boy Scouts– currently as a member of the board of directors of the Capitol Area Council, and previously as chair of the Bee Cave District. RALPH SCHULZ President & CEO, Nashville Chamber

President and CEO, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Ralph Schulz was named president and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce by the Chamber’s board of directors in November 2006, following a 30-year career in nonprofi t management, marketing and fundraising. In taking the position, he accepted a leadership role at one of Middle Tennessee’s oldest and largest business federations, an organization dating back to its founding in 1847.

During his tenure, the Chamber has played a key role in helping the region emerge from the 2007 recession to a period of unprecedented growth with a business relocation and expansion strategy known as Partnership 2020. Additionally, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce was the lead organization in the creation of the nationally recognized Nashville Entrepreneur Center and the passage of a public referendum supporting construction of the Music City Center convention facility. Since Schulz has taken on the role of president and CEO, the Chamber has also led the movement to improve public school performance through the creation of the Academies of Nashville, established the Moving Forward initiative to ensure the creation of a regional transportation solution through a cohesive community e ort and developed into a respected publisher of data on the Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area with the annual publication of the Vital Signs report.

In 2009, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce was named “Chamber of the Year” by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), recognizing the Nashville Chamber’s organizational excellence, service to members, development of leaders and volunteers and its impact on key community priorities. The ACCE award referenced the Nashville Chamber’s role in the creation of Nashville for All of Us, a campaign made up of community leaders aligned to defeat a 2009 charter referendum which would have prohibited Nashville city government from conducting business in a language other than English. The Chamber was also praised for its creation of A Leading Edge, a broad range of programs aimed at helping Chamber members navigate the turbulent waters of the recession.

Before joining the Nashville Chamber, Schulz spent six years as CEO of the Adventure Science Center in Nashville, focusing the team on turning around an aging, science-based nonprofi t for children into a leading destination for young people, with growing attendance, revamped exhibits, successful capital campaigns and stronger community support. In 2001, the Science Center was recognized with the Marvin Runyon Leadership Award by the Center for Nonprofi t Management for its turnaround e orts.

Schulz’s career in nonprofi t management began when he joined the sta of Junior Achievement of Nashville in 1974, eventually spending 20 years with JA, leading chapters in Jackson, Miss.; Dallas, Texas; and New York, N.Y. In 1990, he was named national executive vice president for JA, working from the organization’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo. He returned to Nashville in 1996 to take on a similar national role with the National Federation of Independent Business. EXPLORING ECONOMIES 2021 SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES

He currently serves on numerous civic and nonprofi t boards including the Nashville Health Care Council, Tennessee Business Roundtable, NashvilleHealth, Music City Music Council, Nashville Predators Foundation, Western Governors University advisory board and the Board of Trustees of Father Ryan High School. He served on the to Nashville advisory committee. He is a past board member of Alignment Nashville and Center for Nonprofi t Management. He has been involved with the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee, MTA’s Strategic Plan Advisory Committee and the NashvilleNEXT Steering Committee. He has participated in Leadership Nashville, Leadership Middle Tennessee and Leadership Music.

Schulz is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He resides in Nashville with his wife, Leeanne, their four children and six grandchildren.

JANET LABAR President & CEO, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance

A seasoned regional economic development leader with strong communications, strategy and operations skills, LaBar was selected to lead the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance following a four-month national search.

As President and CEO, LaBar is leading CLT Alliance in a new direction to ensure the Charlotte region is the most vibrant, innovative and healthy economy in the nation. Through collaboration, the CLT Alliance is advancing a region that creates economic opportunities and prosperity for all.

Prior to joining the Alliance team in April 2019, LaBar held the same position at Greater Portland Inc (GPI), a regional public-private partnership that markets the Greater Portland metropolitan and helps companies expand and relocate to the region.

Under her leadership, GPI assisted 31 company expansions or relocations, which will generate nearly 2,800 jobs and nearly $153 million in income. LaBar led the planning process for Greater Portland 2020 — the region’s fi ve-year comprehensive economic development strategy. Focused on three core pillars of People, Business and Place, the plan is rooted in guiding principles of equity and advancement and has a goal of shared economic prosperity for all across the region.

LaBar started her economic development career in 2002 at the Center for Workforce Development at the Maricopa Community Colleges in Tempe, Arizona, where she managed research and communications for the district-wide Center. From there, LaBar spent a decade at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), serving in key positions including Senior Vice President of Strategic Integration, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and Director of Product Improvement. Her rise at GPEC topped as Chief Performance O cer, a role in which she oversaw day-to-day operations, organizational performance, strategic initiatives and action plans. LaBar serves on the boards of Charlotte Center City Partners and Charlotte Sports Foundation and is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank’s Charlotte Industrial Roundtable.

LaBar earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from the University of West Florida and an MBA in marketing from the University of Phoenix.

She and her husband are proud parents to an older daughter and younger daughter/son twins.

GREG BOULANGER Vice President, HNTB Board of Trustees Member, CLT Alliance

Greg Boulanger is the Charlotte Practice Leader for HNTB’s Charlotte o ce, whose primary focus is on serving the transportation needs of the region. Boulanger has demonstrated his dedication to understanding the region’s goal of minimizing impacts to residents and businesses through sound, innovative, and collaborative infrastructure solutions. His encompassing experience in managing and implementing various transportation design, planning and construction projects for both the public and private sectors in the highway, transit, and aviation market sectors in the region has allowed him to lead important capital investment projects to maintain the growth and vitality of the community and improve the quality of life of its citizens.

With more than 20 years of diverse transportation industry experience in planning, engineering design and construction management, Boulanger has been involved in nearly $3 billion in construction projects across North Carolina and the East Coast. Active within the industry, Boulanger has served as chair of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee and is member of the Aviation Committee and Board of Directors.

Boulanger is a member of International Transportation Engineers and the Construction Management Association of America. Boulanger and his wife have lived in Charlotte for more than 10 years and are parents of a 7-year old boy and 6-year old daughter. EXPLORING ECONOMIES 2021 SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES

MALCOMB COLEY Partner, US – Central Region Private Leader and Charlotte Managing Partner, EY Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

Malcomb is a client serving Partner with 30 years of experience with EY. In addition to his leadership roles, Malcomb serves as the US Central Deputy Presiding Partner. As such he’s a member of EY’s leadership team and sits on the fi rm’s Global Governance Council, the Americas Advisory Council and the US Partner Principle Council.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations including the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (Chair 2022), United Way of Central Carolinas (Chair 2019), First Tee of Greater Charlotte, UNCC Belk College of Business Board of Advisors and the Cameron School of Business Executive Advisory Board for UNC- Wilmington. He is also on the Endowment Board for UNC-Wilmington and Friends of Trinity Episcopal School Board. In 2020, Malcomb was appointed to the NC Ports Authority Board of Directors by Governor Roy Cooper.

Malcomb has a 30-year career with EY, which began in the Raleigh o ce. In Atlanta he was a Senior Assurance Partner where he served a variety of both public and private clients in retail and consumer products, mining and minerals, venture capital and insurance. Malcomb and his wife Tammie have four children: Dana, Adia, Tanna, and DJ. In his spare time, he enjoys running, exercise and golf.

KATIE KIRKPATRICK President & CEO, Metro Atlanta Chamber

Katie Kirkpatrick currently serves as the president and CEO of the 160-year-old Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC). Kirkpatrick is known for her public policy prowess, courageous leadership and more than a decade of driving impact through her work at MAC.

Previously MAC’s chief policy o cer, Kirkpatrick served as the link between the metro Atlanta business community and local and national government. She galvanized the Public Policy team’s priorities in business climate, educated workforce, transportation and sustainability – including water, energy and the environment. The Public Policy team continues to fi ght to protect Georgia’s top-rated business climate against legislation discriminatory in nature or harmful to the region’s ability to create, recruit and retain jobs. Kirkpatrick joined the Chamber in 2007 as vice president of environmental a airs, previously serving in numerous roles directly related to environmental policy and water-related issues. Kirkpatrick later served as the Chamber’s senior vice president for business higher education, leading the execution of key initiatives strengthening the region’s higher education ecosystem and workforce development. Before joining MAC, she served as director of environmental engineering for Gold Kist, Inc., with responsibilities in regulatory compliance, designing treatment systems, strategic planning and more.

Kirkpatrick currently serves on the GRACE Commission, comprised of public o cials, law enforcement, businesses and nonprofi t organizations, committed to ending human tra cking in the State of Georgia and the City of Atlanta. She is a vice-chair for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District and a past board chair for the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Atlanta Track Club.

Kirkpatrick is a current member of Rotary Club of Atlanta, the International Women’s Forum and the Georgia Freight and Logistics Commission. She is a member of the board for Central Atlanta Progress and executive committee member of Learn4Life – an initiative working to advance educational outcomes for students in metro Atlanta. In 2021, Kirkpatrick was named one of Georgia Trend magazine’s 100 Most Infl uential Georgians; and in 2020 she was named one of Atlanta Magazine’s Atlanta 500, ranking top leaders in the region.

As a graduate from Auburn University, Kirkpatrick is a registered professional engineer in several states and a member of the school’s 100+ Women Strong group of successful female engineering alumnae. Kirkpatrick is an alumna of Leadership Atlanta, a program designed to propel established leaders to further serve their communities. She is a volunteer with youth sports leagues in metro Atlanta and the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.

Kirkpatrick lives in Atlanta with her husband, Dow, and their two sons, who currently attend The Lovett School, where she regularly serves on the parent volunteer association.

DARRIN M. REDUS, SR. SVP & Executive Director, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Darrin M. Redus, Sr. serves as Senior Vice President and Executive Director for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber in charge of its fl agship Minority Business Accelerator Program and regional economic inclusion e orts. A national thought leader for inclusive entrepreneurship and growing larger-scale diverse businesses, Darrin is a seasoned business executive and successful entrepreneur. Prior to the Cincinnati Chamber, Darrin served as President and CEO for MainStreet Inclusion Advisors, a national consulting fi rm developing diverse technologybased businesses and networks. DANIEL WEBSTER III Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Based in Charlotte, Daniel is a PwC Assurance Partner, who has over 22 years of diverse public accounting experience. Over his career, he has worked in PwC’s Assurance and Advisory practices covering multiple industries and has also spent time in PwC’s National O ce and serving international clients in Europe. In addition to his client work, Daniel is also one of PwC’s Southeast diversity and inclusion champions and spent several years leading PwC’s fi nancial literacy program in New Jersey.

During his time with PwC’s National O ce, Daniel worked in PwC’s Audit Quality National practice where he consulted on audit methodology matters, and supported engagement teams through their PCAOB inspections. He also spent time in the fi rm’s accounting specialty practice, focusing on business combinations. While in Europe, he served as the U.S. Accounting and Reporting Leader for Central and Eastern Europe, where he oversaw a center of excellence to drive US accounting and reporting matters within the region.

Daniel holds a BS in Business Administration from West Virginia University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

When away from work, Daniel can be found spending time with his family, golfi ng, collecting sports memorabilia or pursuing the perfect photograph. Daniel is married to Kristin Webster and has two sons; Daniel (9) and Keaton (6).

HEATH CAMPBELL President, Metrolina Region, Truist Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

As President of the Greater Charlotte, Metrolina Region, Mr. Campbell serves as a member of the Truist Senior Leadership Team, while also serving as the most senior ranking member of the Community Bank in the Metrolina Region. Campbell’s primary responsibility will be to serve as the Chief Integrator within this market by leading and facilitating a comprehensive fi nancial services team consisting of banking, insurance and investments in the newly headquartered Region at Truist.

Mr. Campbell has more than 20 years of experience in the fi nancial services industry. Since joining BB&T in 2003, he has served in several leadership capacities across several Legacy BB&T markets including the Charlotte Metro Region, Greater Washington Region, Kentucky Region and most recently served as the BB&T President of the Georgia Region. As vice president, government a airs, Reginald is responsible for leading the strategic development and management of the company’s relationships with federal, state, and local government regulators, policymakers, and infl uencers to enable Lowe’s e cient delivery of the right products to customers and strengthen the company’s brand. He has served in this role since 2018. Lowe’s named Reginald among its 2020 O cers of Excellence.

Reginald, an attorney, has held several executive roles since joining Lowe’s in 2007. His fi rst position was senior counsel for employment litigation, where he managed employment related lawsuits and counseled his business clients on positive employment practices. Promoted to vice president and associate general counsel, Reginald’s executive role with the legal department expanded to include responsibilities for corporate transactions, government transactions and compliance, and commercial law. Henderson later served in the executive role responsible for enterprise- wide talent management. SAVOY® magazine named Reginald among the Most Infl uential Blacks in Corporate America and among the Most Infl uential Black Lawyers.

Prior to Lowe’s, Reginald held several leadership positions at BNSF Railway Company, The Watkins Law O ce, and the U.S. Department of Labor, where he led human resources compliance, equal opportunity, and internal investigation functions.

Reginald earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from Hendrix College, a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas, and a master’s in labor and employment law from Georgetown University. He is a member of the board of directors for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and NC Chamber of Commerce; executive committee member of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance and Alliance Foundation Board member; and a member of the board of advisors for UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business and the NC Institute for Emerging Issues.

SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR HENRY MCMASTER

Henry Dargan McMaster of Columbia became the 117th Governor of South Carolina on January 24, 2017 and was elected to his fi rst full term as governor on November 6, 2018.

Since becoming governor, Governor McMaster has announced more than 41,000 new jobs and nearly $12 billion in capital investment.

McMaster was the fi rst U.S. attorney appointed by President Ronald Reagan, and was unanimously confi rmed by the United States Senate. His “Operation Jackpot” investigation into international drug smuggling produced over 100 convictions.

As attorney general, McMaster made prosecution of criminal domestic violence a priority and harnessed the resources of law enforcement and prosecutors to crack down on child Internet predators. He extended the state grand jury’s jurisdiction to environmental and gang crimes and broadened its authority to include securities crimes following the collapse of Carolina Investors and Home Gold, convicting those responsible.

In 2003, McMaster issued a landmark opinion to protect our marsh islands from encroachment and later won the Life Sciences Act case in the South Carolina Supreme Court, which enhanced the state’s economic potential through its universities for research, development and investment in the knowledge-based economy. The governor was central to the fi ght against “Obamacare,” organizing and leading the states in their challenge against the law’s unconstitutional federal encroachment.

As lieutenant governor, McMaster served as president of the South Carolina State Senate and headed the Lieutenant Governor’s O ce on Aging, which aids older adults with social, economic and health needs. In that capacity, he added senior services to the 2-1-1 system, connecting callers with support groups and services in their areas. He also established a “Senior Day” at the State House and strengthened the network of “senior ride” projects. AARP named McMaster a “Capitol Caregiver” for his policies to help seniors live independently at home.

In 2012, McMaster and former attorney general Travis Medlock led a bipartisan commission to reform ethics laws and restore the public’s trust in state government. McMaster was chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party from 1993-2002, winning reelection three times. As state GOP chairman, he led the party to Republican majorities in South Carolina’s House and Senate.

Governor McMaster has served on the South Carolina Ports Authority Board of Directors, the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the Palmetto Health Foundation Board and the South Carolina Policy Council (as chairman). States (1978). Governor McMaster is a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, the highest civilian honor in the state, and was named “Public Servant of the Year” by the Sierra Club and “National Law Enforcement O cer of the Year” by The Humane Society of the United States.

McMaster received his AB degree in history in 1969 from the University of South Carolina and his JD degree in 1973 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served on the South Carolina Law Review. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves in the JAG Corps from 1969 to 1975.

Governor McMaster is married to Peggy McMaster, and they have two children, Henry D. McMaster, Jr. and Mary Rogers McMaster. They are members of First Presbyterian Church of Columbia.

TOM GLICK President, Tepper Sports & Entertainment Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

Tom Glick enters his second season as the team president of the , having joined in September 2018. In his role, Glick oversees the team’s day-to-day operations.

Glick comes to the Panthers with more than 30 years of experience in sports management, having worked in , , hockey and soccer in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

At the time of Glick’s hiring, Panthers owner David Tepper said, “We are thrilled to have Tom join the Panthers family. He has tremendous experience in professional sports, successfully fostering fan engagement in major cities globally. I know that his record, expertise and drive will be major assets as we look to win on the fi eld and in the community.”

For the prior six years, Glick was instrumental in the development of City Football Group (CFG), a multi-national soccer organization that includes seven clubs. CFG’s original and fl agship club is three-time and current English Premier League champion, Manchester City FC. The group also owns New York City FC of Major League Soccer, as well as clubs in the top divisions in Australia, Spain, Japan, Uruguay and China. As Chief Commercial O cer, Glick oversaw partnership sales and activation, marketing, content production and distribution, retail and licensing, and fan relationship management for all of CFG’s clubs.

During Glick’s tenure, CFG completed several major infrastructure developments. In Manchester, Etihad Stadium was expanded with more seating, and major improvements were made to premium seating and wider fan amenities were added. In 2015, Manchester City opened a new state-of-the-art training facility, the City Football Academy, built on 80 acres of land adjacent to the stadium. In February 2015, Glick moved to New York for 15 months to help launch New York City FC in the role of president. With the launch complete, he returned to the United Kingdom to continue to drive CFG’s global expansion. As a part of this, he has also been responsible for the group’s business development in China.

Glick spent the fi rst 14 years of his career predominantly in baseball. From 1999-2004, he served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Sacramento River Cats, a Triple-A baseball team. The River Cats led all of Minor League Baseball in attendance and revenue during his fi ve seasons and also became the Minor League’s top seller of merchandise over that same period. Glick held various senior positions with other Minor League Baseball teams, including the Lansing Lugnuts, Huntington Cubs, Welland Pirates and Jamestown Expos. During this time, he introduced two new clubs to cities, helping construct and open new stadiums in Lansing, Michigan (1996) and Sacramento, California (2000). In the middle of this tenure in baseball, he served as the business manager of the Peoria Rivermen hockey club.

In 2004, Glick made a move to the National Basketball Association, fi rst as vice president, marketing and team business development at the league headquarters in New York City, and later as chief marketing o cer for the New Jersey Nets, which included work on the club’s relocation to their current home in Brooklyn. In 2008, Glick relocated to the United Kingdom to take on the role of chief executive o cer with Derby County Football Club prior to joining CFG in 2012.

He is a two-time winner of Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award. Glick was the fi rst American elected to serve on the Board of the Football League in England. He has also served on the Football Association Council and the Professional Game Board. Glick and his wife, Maria, have three children – Chuck, Ted and Maisy.

NORTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR ROY COOPER Roy Cooper is a trusted leader and family man who is honored to serve as North Carolina’s Governor.

Roy Cooper has spent nearly three decades in public service protecting families, keeping communities safe, and working to create jobs and improve schools. The son of a school teacher, he knows that education creates opportunity and he has worked throughout his career to strengthen our schools and create a sound foundation for our state’s children.

In the NC House and Senate, Roy Cooper fought to increase teacher pay and reduce class sizes. He wrote North Carolina’s fi rst children’s health insurance initiative. During his service in the legislature, Roy Cooper worked with members of both parties to get balanced budgets that raised teacher pay to the national average, grow the economy and cut taxes for middle class families.

In 2000, the people of North Carolina elected Roy Cooper as Attorney General, where he continued to fi ght for families during his four terms. He cracked down on child predators, worked to increase penalties for drug dealers, and oversaw a sharp decrease in crime. He partnered with law enforcement and school administrators to make schools safer, and helped protect victims of domestic violence and stalking. fi ghting to keep utility rates low, put predatory lenders out of business, and help families fend o telemarketers. Roy Cooper entered public service to fi ght for communities like the one where he grew up. Born and raised in Nash County, he attended public schools and worked summers on the family farm before attending UNC-Chapel Hill on a Morehead Scholarship. His mother, Beverly Cooper, worked as a school teacher, and his father, Roy Cooper Jr., farmed and practiced law.

After earning a law degree from UNC, Roy Cooper returned home to Nash County to practice law and, with his wife Kristin, raise three daughters – Hilary, Natalie, and Claire. He taught Sunday School, served as an elder and deacon in his church, and tutored students in local schools.

Roy Cooper believes in the potential of our great state and its people. He knows that we can build a state and an economy that work for everyone. By investing in our public schools and giving students the tools they need to succeed, creating good jobs and raising incomes for the middle class, and strengthening our communities, North Carolinians can live and work in places they are proud to call home.

FRED WHITFIELD President, Vice Chairman, Alternate Governor & Minority Owner, Charlotte Hornets Sports & Entertainment Executive Committee Member, CLT Alliance

A talented sports executive with experience as a player, coach, agent, sports marketer and basketball operations administrator, Fred Whitfi eld joined Hornets Sports & Entertainment (formerly Bobcats Sports & Entertainment) as President & Chief Operating O cer in July 2006. In this role, Whitfi eld oversees all business operations for the Charlotte Hornets and Center, including the team’s name change from Charlotte Bobcats in the summer of 2014 and the arena’s rebranding in the summer of 2016 following partner ’s merger with .

Since coming to Charlotte, Whitfi eld has overseen the dramatic growth of both the franchise and arena. Along with overseeing the team’s rebranding, Whitfi eld led e orts in recent years that resulted in securing $40 million in renovations for . Additional accomplishments during his tenure with the organization include securing the 2019 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, reaching long-term agreements with Ticketmaster to serve as Spectrum Center’s ticketing provider and Live Nation to book the arena’s entertainment, hosting the 2012 Democratic National Convention, simultaneously signing an arena naming rights deal with Time Warner Cable and a television broadcast rights deal with Fox Sports, and making the largest donation ever given to Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools by a professional sports franchise. He also led the e orts to secure the 2017 NBA All Star Game and re-securing it after the repeal of HB2.

Before joining the organization, Whitfi eld most recently served as Director of Business and Legal A airs for Jordan Brand, where he managed endorsements and sports marketing strategy. Jordan Brand’s clients include and included some of the top athletes in professional sports. From 2000-03, Whitfi eld served as Director of Player Personnel and Assistant Legal Counsel for the Washington Wizards. While there, he was responsible for the team’s salary cap administration, contract negotiations and overseeing player scouting. He is widely credited with facilitating the methods to correct the team’s troubled salary cap situation, enabling that franchise to rebuild through trades and free agency.

Whitfi eld served as Director of Player Development for Nike Basketball prior to joining the Wizards. At Nike Basketball, he was responsible for scouting new potential endorsers, negotiating endorsement contracts and overseeing business and marketing strategies for more than 150 NBA players. His career in sports began as a player agent representing professional athletes with F.A.M.E. as Director of the Carolinas Region, based in Greensboro. Before joining F.A.M.E., Whitfi eld established and managed a successful law practice in Greensboro.

A graduate of , Whitfi eld was an All-South, team MVP and basketball team captain player and was inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. He earned a BBA degree in Economics and then completed his MBA at Campbell while serving as Assistant Basketball Coach for the Camels. From there, he earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law where he served as Student Bar Association President.

Whitfi eld also founded HoopTee Charities, Inc, a North Carolina based non-profi t corporation whose mission is to provide scholarships for disadvantaged youngsters to attend camps and educational youth based programs across the country. In addition, for the past 33 years he has run, which he founded, the Achievements Unlimited Basketball School in Greensboro and Charlotte serving more than 10,000 kids, including many who attend on need-based scholarships. In recent years, Whitfi eld has received the prestigious Thurgood Marshall Award of Excellence (2011) and YMCA George Williams Award (Volunteer of the Year 2012), as well as the Key to the City of Greensboro (2013). He currently serves on the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance Executive Committee, Charlotte Sports Foundation Board of Directors, Campbell University Board of Trustees and Charlotte Executive Leadership Council.
