McDavid joined the club against Pepperdine on January 4, 2020 while Higgins squeezed in the accomplishment against Portland in the Tigers final game of the season on March 7, 2020. • Additionally, McDavid and Higgins have been named to the Preseason All-Conference teams by the WCC in both 2019-20 and 2020-21. Leading their team in scoring with averages of 16.5 (Higgins) and 14.5 (McDavid) points, the duo also aspires to earn postseason recognition again after both were selected to the 2019-20 All-WCC First Team. • Known as one of the elite defenders in collegiate women’s basketball, Higgins was sixth in the NCAA in steals per game in 2019-20 with an average of 3.54, placing her ninth in total with 99 on the year. Overall, the versatile guard currently holds the highest steals average in program history with 3.3 per game and sits fourth on the all-time steals list with 194 in her two years with the Tigers. Not stopping there, Higgins also can score the rock, placing second in program history in career scoring with an average of 16.9 points heading into this season. • Hitting the glass, McDavid currently sits second in program history with 265 career offensive rebounds. Joining the efforts, Higgins is currently third on the list in career rebounding per game, grabbing an average of 9.0 boards. THINGS TO KNOW: • Finally returning to Stockton after almost a month, Pacific recorded a 3-1 record overall in four games played on their recent road trip, including their first ever victory as a program over LSU as well as two straight overtime wins (UNLV + Saint Mary’s). • Hitting her stride, redshirt senior Valerie Higgins ranks amongst the best in the WCC in multiple statistical categories: first in steals (3.4 spg), third in scoring (16.8 ppg), fourth in free throw percentage (.771), fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.89), fifth in blocked shots (1.0 bpg), sixth in assists (3.4 apg) and seventh in rebounding (7.0 rpg). • Proving to be a workhorse for the Tigers, senior Lianna Tillman currently ranks first in the conference and ninth nationally in minutes played per game with an average of 38.71. Additionally, Higgins ranks third in the conference respectively with a 34.70 average. Dishing the rock, Tillman is also third in the WCC in assists per game, averaging 4.20 DID YOU KNOW... per contest for Pacific so far. Pacific’s Valerie Higgins and Brooklyn McDavid have both been named to the Preseason All-WCC team in back-to-back years. The duo also both earned All-First Team honors in 2019-20 for the Tigers. • As a team, the Tigers have limited their mistakes despite little preparation this season, currently placing third in the WCC in turnover margin with a +0.60 mark. Overall, Pacific also sits fourth in the conference in free throw percentage (.731) heading into the weekend. 2020-21 WCC STANDINGS SCOUTING THE DONS: Team WCC Pct. Overall Pct. • Thursday marks the 45th all-time meeting between the Dons and Tigers. Currently, USF owns a 24-20 advantage GON 4-0 1.000 9-2 .818 in the series, with Pacific tallying an 8-7 against the Dons since rejoining the WCC in 2013-14. Last year, the two POR 3-0 1.000 6-3 .667 programs split the season series with the visiting team coming away with the win both times. Last time out, USF took BYU 2-1 .667 6-2 .750 USD 2-1 .667 5-3 .625 down the Tigers, 67-61 at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Feb. 27, 2020 in the second to last game of the 2019-20 regular LMU 2-2 .500 3-6 .333 season.
