McDavid joined the club against Pepperdine on January 4, 2020 while Higgins squeezed in the accomplishment against Portland in the Tigers final game of the season on March 7, 2020. • Additionally, McDavid and Higgins have been named to the Preseason All-Conference teams by the WCC in both 2019-20 and 2020-21. Leading their team in scoring with averages of 16.5 (Higgins) and 14.5 (McDavid) points, the duo also aspires to earn postseason recognition again after both were selected to the 2019-20 All-WCC First Team. • Known as one of the elite defenders in collegiate women’s basketball, Higgins was sixth in the NCAA in steals per game in 2019-20 with an average of 3.54, placing her ninth in total with 99 on the year. Overall, the versatile guard currently holds the highest steals average in program history with 3.3 per game and sits fourth on the all-time steals list with 194 in her two years with the Tigers. Not stopping there, Higgins also can score the rock, placing second in program history in career scoring with an average of 16.9 points heading into this season. THINGS TO KNOW: • Hungry to break their three-game skid, the Tigers are looking for their first win since a 61-45 victory over Pepperdine on Jan. 23. • Overall, the Tigers are shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from behind-the-arc while also averag- ing 68.4 points per game as a team. • Leading the way, redshirt senior Valerie Higgins paces the offense with 16.0 ppg and 8.6 rpg while fellow classmate Brooklyn McDavid averages 11.5 ppg and 5.7 rpg. Setting the tempo, senior Lianna Tillman also averages 9.3 ppg while dishing out a team-high 4.0 apg. • For Higgins, the Granada Hills native continues to make her case for Player of the Year as she currently sits in the top five in the conference in: free throw attempts (79- 1st), free throws made (66- 1st), total steals (45- 1st), steals per DID YOU KNOW... game (3.75- 1st), points per game (16.0- 3rd) and rebounds per game (8.6- 3rd). Pacific’s Valerie Higgins and Brooklyn McDavid have both been named to the Preseason All-WCC team in back-to-back years. The duo also both earned All-First Team honors in 2019-20 for the Tigers. • Improving with each opportunity, Pacific currently leads the WCC in free throw percentage (75.9) while also ranking third in the three-point percentage (34.2).
