The centerpiece of the school, its chapel is simply and beautifully designed with striking stained glass windows. Other facilities include a 10,000-volume library (built at a cost of $12 million in 2001), a large cafeteria, a 500-seat auditorium, a brand new music room, a gymnasium and 25 classrooms and laboratories for biology, physics and chemistry. Each classroom is outfitted with a Smartboard. A new 32,500 square-foot scholastic and wellness center is currently under construction, in addition to a new classroom wing with science labs, and both are set to be completed by fall 2014. Renovations will also be made to the school’s athletics facilities and fields. Principal Profile Mr. Domenic Lalli guides the day-to-day operations of the academic program at Xaverian Brothers High School. Mr. Lalli holds a Bachelor of Science in human movement, health and leisure from Boston University. He also holds a Master of Education degree in administration from Boston State College and has completed additional graduate work at Northeastern University. Mr. Lalli is a graduate of the Catholic School Leadership Program at Boston College. He began his career at Xaverian in 1976, initially serving as a physical education teacher and track and football coach before becoming the Principal of Xaverian Brothers High School in 1991. During his tenure, the school has undergone a period of tremendous growth and development. Student Awards and Honors The baseball team has made 10 playoff appearances since 2002, and has won 1 State Championship, 2 Sectional Final games, 2 Conference Championships, and 139 overall games. In 2004, the varsity team won the Division 1 State Championship and was ranked the 24th best team in the country by USA Today. Academically, more than 100 students were selected as finalists, semi-finalists and commended students by the National Merit Scholarship Program from 2005 to 2011.
