FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 UFC® FIGHT NIGHT ON FOX SPORTS 1: MCGREGOR VS. SIVER FEATURES BATTLE OF TOP-RANKED FEATHERWEIGHTS Former Lightweight Champ Frankie Edger Makes Analyst Debut With Cormier and Melendez; Rogan and Goldberg Call Fights Three Specials Highlight Rising Star McGregor LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports 1 presents UFC® FIGHT NIGHT ON FOX SPORTS 1: MCGREGOR vs. SIVER on Sunday, Jan. 18 (10:00 PM ET), headlined by a clash of top-ranked featherweights, as No. 5 Conor McGregor (16-2) battles No. 10 Dennis Siver (22-9, 1NC). This highly anticipated bout caps off more than six hours of live coverage on FOX Sports 1 that evening. The UFC returns to Boston a little over a year after the record-setting UFC FIGHT NIGHT: SHOGUN vs. SONNEN, which featured the brash, trash talking light heavyweight Chael Sonnen defeating the former champion Shogun Rua with a surprise submission victory. Currently that show stands as the most-watched UFC FIGHT NIGHT on FOX Sports 1 with 1.78-million viewers – a feat that the charismatic Irishman McGregor hopes to top. McGregor (16-2, fighting out of Dublin, Ireland) has quickly climbed the ranks of the featherweight division with an undefeated record in the UFC that includes three first-round knockouts. A win over Siver (22-9, 1NC, fighting out of Mannheim, Germany) will see him rewarded with a title shot in 2015. To get past the 18-fight UFC veteran who has collected seven “Fight Night” bonus awards along the way, McGregor needs to be firing on all cylinders.

ABSTRACT This memory shows the production process of the radio series "UFC: the acronym that made the fight a phenomenon of popularity".
