Jaylin Airington (10 ppg. 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg), Brent Wrapp (5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.2 apg), Damiyne Durham (11.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.7 apg) and Justin Pride (3.9, 2.2 rpg, 2.8 apg). ►CSUB is returning 62% of their offense from a season ago (1497 of 2405 total points). ►Senior Dedrick Basile and redshirt sophomore Damiyne Durham are the returning leading scorers for CSUB, each averaging 12 points per game a season ago.

UNSELFISH BASKETBALL PAYS OFF ►CSUB led the Western Athletic Conference last season with 516 total assists and a conference-best 15.6 assists per game which was also 41st in the NCAA. The ‘Runners also led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3), that mark was 55th-best in the NCAA. ►The Roadrunners return five guards that accounted for 440 assists which was 85% of the team’s 516 assists last sea- son. ►Senior Dedrick Basile and redshirt sophomore Damiyne Durham are the returning leading scorers for CSUB, each averaging 12 points per game a season ago.

ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS CSUB ALL-WAC SELECTIONS ►Rod Barnes will be looking to replace a pair of All-WAC first-team selections from 2015-16. Senior Aly Ahmed led the ‘Runners with 13 points and a team 2015-16: second-best 6.2 rebounds per contest while fellow frontcourt standout Kevin Aly Ahmed (First Team) Kevin Mays (First Team, All-Defensive Team) Mays added 12.6 points and a team-best 8 rebounds a game last season. Rod Barnes (Coach of the Year) Dedrick Basile (Second Team, All-Newcomer Team) DEFENSE-DEFENSE 2014-15: ►CSUB was the toughest defensive team in the WAC in 2015-16 with an Aly Ahmed (First Team) Kevin Mays (All-Defensive Team) emphasis on contested shots, ball pressure and steals. The Roadrunners were 2013-14 second in the WAC in scoring defense allowing just 63.8 ppg (NM State led Issiah Grayson (Second Team) the conference allowing 63.1 ppg). CSUB was second in field goal-defense Aly Ahmed (All-Defensive) (38.5%), third in three-point defense (32.7%), first in total blocks (165) and blocks-per-game (5). ►CSUB’s tremendous ball pressure led to a conference-best 263 steals and a WAC-leading 8 steals per game which ranked 24th in the NCAA.

WAC LEADERS ►Due to their balanced attack in 2015-16, CSUB’s individual scoring totals weren’t in the top of the conference, but the ‘Runners topped several other areas. ►Dedrick Basile:Led the WAC in steals with 59, was third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) and was eigth in assists-per- game with 3.7. ►Damiyne Durham led the WAC in three-pointers made during his freshman season. Durham made 89 three-pointers and averaging a conference-best 2.8 per game. ►Brent Wrapp led the conference in assist-to-turnover ration at 2.8.

FORMER ‘RUNNER AHMED DRAFTED IN NBA D-LEAGUE ►Former two-time All-WAC selection Aly Ahmed was drafted by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA Development League. ►Ahmed was selected in the fifth round by the Skyforce, the D-League affiliate of the Miami Heat. ►Ahmed was one of just four players in the history of CSUB to score at least 1,000 points and grab over 500 rebounds in his career. He finished his CSUB career 10th all-time in scoring (1075 pts) and fifth all-time in career rebounds (588). ►He becomes just the second Roadrunner ever drafted by the NBA D-League following Tyrone White who was selected in the third round by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in 2014. White is currently playing professionally in Mexico. 2016-17 n o t e s PRESEASON WAC HONORS ►Dedrick Basile was the lone Roadrunner named to the All-WAC Preseason Team following his stellar junior campaign. Basile was also named to the College Court Report “Non-Power 5 Guards That Will Be Household Names in 2017” list released on October 26th. ►’Runners Picked Third in Media/Coaches Poll: Despite winning the WAC Tournament in 2016, the media covering the WAC and the league’s coaches selected CSUB to finish third in the preseason polls behind NM State and Grand Can- yon. The Roadrunners received one first-place vote in the Coaches’ poll and two in the media poll.

BASILE NAMED TO LOU HENSON PRESEASON WATCH LIST ►Dedrick Basile was one of three WAC men’s basketball players –named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List, given to the nation’s top Division I mid-major player. ►A Preseason All-WAC selection, Basile helped lead the Roadrunners to their first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament ap- pearance and was named WAC Tournament MVP after hitting a buzzer-beating three-pointer to win the WAC Tournament last year as a junior. He was named second team All-WAC, to the WAC All-Defensive Team and to the WAC All-Newcomer Team after averaging 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game last year.

RECORDS TO WATCH FOR ►Brent Wrapp enters his junior season with 250 assists which ranks sixth all-time at CSUB. The career record is 520 held by Kenny Warren (1990-1994). Wrapp would need to record at least 135 assists in each of the next two seasons to eclipse the mark that has held for over two decades. ►Damiyne Durham made his presence known as a redshirt freshman last season leading the Roadrunners in three-pointers attempted (250) and made (89). Both stats were single-season records for CSUB and put him well on pace to break CSUB’s all-time records in both categories over a four-year career. Durham would need to attempt 130 three-pointers and make 63 per season over the next three years to break both marks. Both numbers are well-below his freshman-season outputs. ►Jaylin Airington led the ‘Runners from the free-throw line last season shooting 77% from the charity stripe which was also fifth-best in the WAC. Heading into his senior season, Airington sits 6th all-time at CSUB with a 76.5% free-throw shooting mark. The record based on at least 100 made belongs to Wade Green who shot 80.2% (202-252) from 1988- 1990.
